Good to hear that NUS FASS isn't as scary as it sounds! Anyway, it's moot for us as my daughter probably can't get into NUS with her grades. We are keeping our fingers crossed for NTU.
Well...If u are referring to getting into NUS FASS...Dont lose hope yet ...u may get a pleasant surprise ( if yr DD's results arent too far away from the IGP COP) ...
As for last year, even after NUS had already sent out rejection letters to their applicants...BUT juz before the 1 st window closing date of Uni applications...mass offers were sent out to those rejected applicants to offer them a place in NUS FASS...( guess quota wasnt filled as expected to be)...
You mean they rejected, then offered? What about students who had already accepted a place elsewhere?
My daughter has just (yesterday!) received an offer from NTU. We actually think the NTU course is more interesting than the closest equivalent one in NUS, and also offers a minor that she is interested in. The main negative about it is the distance. Not sure if we want to wait on the off-chance that NUS also offers a place. I am also very appreciative that the interviewer offered her a place even though her special needs make her not a very good interview candidate! She was earlier rejected by a poly on the basis that she didn't do well in the interview, but off course, it was for a different type of course.[/quote]Congrats to yr DD for receiving offer fr NTU...
YES, NUS FASS rejection letters/ emails were already been sent out to those Uni applicants 1-2 weeks ago ( am referring to the case of last yr applications)...
Forummers who were Uni applicants themselves updated in that forum that they were already been rejected but then received letters / emails of offers ...No interviews required.. My gal's fren also the same case...received the rejection about a wk or so ago...Surprisingly received their offer at later date ...But she didnt take it up...
U can still make ammendment to your accepted choice of Uni so long before the closing date n time. The online application platform is integrated...which shows the offers from the various Unis u have applied for...Thus, i suppose the Unis also can see which Uni u have already accepted the offer...probably then make vacancies for others ??
