      Hi,

I have a question on the bonus points.

Can a student get 3 bonus point from CCA and JC affiliation and get additional 2 bonus points from language elective programme ?

    • RE: All About A Levels

      Hi

I have a question on ACJC subject combination.

Are we allowed to take MEP, ELEP and DEP + Math as a combination?

I am asking because there are 3 elective courses in the list. Is there any rule on number of elective courses that a student can take ?

      Thank you.

Performance is only a small component of MEP. The syllabus is available online…on seab website

They cover history, theory, listening, music composition, music cultures, use of softwares for music etc.

MEP students are expected to learn instruments outside the school. The schools don’t have teachers for all instruments .

      Hi There ,

Is there any chance that my kid can exempted Mother Tongue from sec 1? She is taking Hindi and also Hindi is not our Mother Tongue and its really getting tougher for her .
in Primary school they used to have Hindi in her own school but sec 1 onwards They don't have and she has to go to the center once a week for lesson and its not enough .

Pls advise if anyone knows about it if we can appeal for Exemption MTL .
If you lived overseas and lost touch with the subject, you can ask for exemption.

\"Difficult\" or \"weekend class\" are not criteria for exemption. There are a lot of kids who face your situation... including Tamil students who have travel coz Tamil is not available in all schools.

For non Chinese speakers like Thai, Philippines, Myanmar etc, they also struggle with MT.

      Interesting discussion.

MOE says slightly below 50% are scoring above 75.

So, we can probably assume that AL17 or 18 is half way mark. 50% of students get AL17/18 or better.

      Another statistic for analysis.

Min said the introduction of AL is to stop comparison and focus on yourself not to chase the last point haha…..parents need mindset change haha….

People don't change because the government told them to. They will change if they want to.

For example, when 50% MPs and ministers send their children and grandchildren to neighborhood secondary schools even when they are eligible for Top schools, then parents will change.
