Thanks qms for ur reassurance. 😃

Hi Average Joe, ive been reading your posts. You seem to have done a lot of 'homework' on various schs.

If convenient, may i ask which sch have you chosen for your child? šŸ˜‰
Hi KC Spider (fantastic nick, btw)

Frankly, I'm still torn between RMPS and RVPS though I'm leaning towards RMPS simply because of its proximity and location. But if i suspect that there is a balloting situation at RMPS, I will withdraw and opt for RVPS instead because I am no risk-taker. I have consulted the senior forumners here as well as friends who have kids/work in those schools. Happy to share more with you - just PM me. Cheers :celebrate:

Agree. If ZDPS produce just one top-tier PSLE student, it'll probably surpass its neighbors in the popularity stakes since it has ticked all the other boxes. As it is, balloting is required for P2C. Possibly for those SC within 1-2km this year?

Please define \"top-tier PSLE student\". If everyone were to look only at the performance of ONE student, then Zhangde wouldn't have this issue. For many, many years, its top student has been scoring more than 270. So, is this considered \"top-tier\" to you?

Even GESPS has such \"top-tier\" student almost every year, too.

Perception is reality and perception can't change overnight. While i wouldn't rely on the score of one odd student, one positive news headline about the school's academic prowess could generate more interest in the other aspects of the school. But of course, ironically, MOE will not allow that type of publicity for any specific school now. We have to rely on inside info or our own research, which is why this forum is so useful.

... We heard at that open house they will be building a indoor sports complex at the field next year so expect the school to be quite dirty and dusty since the field is just outside and near to the existing lower Primary classrooms. During our visit, we noticed that the classrooms especially those at the back of the school near to the field seem poorly lit.

Do we choose RVPS because it has been around for a longer time?

Can anyone advise on the PSLE results of RVPS?

      Thank you.
If I recall correctly, a new student care facility should accompany the new indoor sports hall too.

In terms of transportation and logistics options, I feel that zdps has the best location.... sheltered all the way to bus stop and mrt.... no other bm school come close....

Hi everyone, does anyone know if there are any plans to establish a student care centre in the school? Thanks!
Hi everyone, does anyone (especially the senior forumners here) have any idea how many grassroots volunteers turned up for Phase 2B at Radin Mas Primary School during their time? And if applicants within 1km needed to ballot? Thanks šŸ™‚

No balloting for P2B last year. However, the year before, there was balloting, for the first time in history.

That is because now RMPS is in a SMC. Previously in a GRC and thus many GRLs are eligible
That's a good point. Haha..

Hi Divamama, you may wish to consider volunteering your time with the school (assuming the PV scheme is not abolished by then) in 2015/16. The school runs its PV scheme quite well, offering decent assignments (not those 1 hr-traffic warden-type) that will give you a good feel of the school activities, teachers and students. The school is also mindful of accepting too many PVs lest any PV end up being disappointed having completed the necessary hours.

Hey thanks! I've applied for PV but have not heard from the school. Fingers crossed.

Also, it looks like RMPS is much more popular this year. I knew it is a popular school but balloting at this phase... :scared:

      Good luck! :xedfingers:
