Thank you for the updates.
I am very confident of the school environment, teachers and great boys too. Was there twice and observed the boys behavior. I'm impressed.

Is your boy in OP or IP curriculum? Maybe they sped up in year 3 for their O levels the next year?

I'm sure my boys will enjoy his journey with CHS.

Yes, boy in OP track, thus it was a bullet train ride, but in the end worthworthwhile πŸ˜“ His class , out of 40 boys ( i think was 40) , 32 of them scored 7 distinctions and above:)
Your boy will have a great Secondary journey .. πŸ˜„

Thank you for the great information.
Yes, I am sure he has made the right choice. We leave it to him to decide on the DSA application and selection. Glad that he goes with his heart and definitely I'm sure he will enjoy his 4years in CHS. :rahrah:
Hope our boys have fun in CHS.. πŸ˜„

My son graduated last year with great and fond memories. Rest assure your boy will enjoy the sch journey with CHS too:) Good sch, with great teachers support, and down to earth boys. Sch with a strict discipline regime, need not worry too much in this area and tailored lessons plan. Teachers and the boys are very closely knitted as the school is rather small cohort compared to other giant elite schools. Till to date, my boy still catches up his free time with his ex-Secondary classmates and teachers, they will usually gather in CHS infact,.. they miss the sch very much. Academically, be prepared to go with bullet train speed in Year 3 when the teachers will gear the boys to cover the syllabus faster in order them to be ready for year 4, as the last year is mainly doing revision and lots of practices for their last lap . All the best to the new gentleman of Sec 1 , yr 2020!

Thank you for the updates.

Bus 50 is probably not the best choice if you are starting from SK Interchange. However, if you are starting your journey from the neighborhood of Fernvale, it’s probably a reasonable option. That said, bus 50 only brings you to Bishan Road, still need to walk to CHS or take a feeder bus if you want to stop at the door step.

ya.. i am at Rivervale area... is an hour journey to reach bishan πŸ˜‚ but i like the idea of just 1 bus from point a to point b

hi hi
Yes hope our boys will enjoy in CHS.
So coincidentally, I am also staying near Rivervale area.. I'm near to Rivervale Plaza.
Infact bus 88 also goes to CHS.
Yes.. I am off main Punggol road. I think my boy prefers to take mrt too.. hope they enjoy school in CHS πŸ˜„

Actually the best is MRT and then bus. Cos if he takes the bus all the way, he will not be with his friends....if he takes the bus (many bus options) to Bishan, he will be taking with many friends, and it will be more fun.
Yes.. will leave it up to him to decide... hands off when they go to secondary school. Time for him to grow up!!! πŸ˜„

Guess with the MRT its also more convenient to travel to Bishan.. Just hope not to have breakdowns.. πŸ™‚

For public transport, you can either take:
1) MRT - fast, require one change at Serangoon MRT but occasionally breakdown; or
2) Bus 50 - rarely breakdown but travel at a leisurely pace

Hi hi,

My son also CO to CHS vis sports. What a coincidence that we are also staying in SK. Hope the boys will enjoy their school in CHS πŸ˜„
Just to share.

We went to visit the schools' open house and decided to apply for CHS instead of NCHS (we stay in Sengkang), cos my DS prefers CHS. We all felt very comfortable with the school environment and also the boys in CHS are really more refine and stands out from the others.

We did not apply for DHS, VS, TJC, NUSH cos it is really very inconvenient to commute from my place. These are all good schools but too bad it is too far away.

We applied for RI and was shortlisted. However, we all felt the stress there. Humble cannot be found in RI. Even as parents, I felt the stress when I heard parents talking among themselves and all competing what medals their DS achieved from the Olympiad etc etc. Hence, we decided to drop RI cos we felt that the child must enjoy his learning process and not be stressed by these external factors.

We applied for HCI too but was not successful cos my DS doesn't has the \"platinum\" medal from Olympiad. Another stressful school to be in.

So we are definitely accepting the CO by CHS.
Hope to know other CHS parents here too.

Good day ahead.

Quite a number of CHS boys in SK. I see them all the time (my neighbor both kids also in CHS - coincidentally, also formerly from MSHS).
Guess with the MRT its also more convenient to travel to Bishan.. Just hope not to have breakdowns.. πŸ™‚
