RE: Need Solutions for Snoring
Ask your husband to get a check up with ENT doctors who can suggest a sleep test to ensure he does not suffer from Sleep Apnea (momentarily stop breathing). If does have Sleep Apnea, doctor can recommend CPAP machines which really help.

RE: CHIJ (Kellock)
wrt to the memo from mrs clara, 16 students successfully admitted to the schools of their choice using DSA (for sports). anyone knows how the interview conducts in DSA application for sports? thanks.
I'm not sure abt the interview bit. Usually for DSA-SPORTS you have to go for trials during the DSA sessions. Most of the girls who got thru are from the sports class using netball, gymnastics and tennis (the niche sports of kellock). -

Congrats to you!!!

Ooptimizer, Thank you.
Any parents of CSS students / CSS students can share with me on the CCAs in the school-which are popular ones, how frequently trainings are held, etc. My DD is worried about being able to cope with sec school studies and cca trainings. -
RE: [Bukit Merah] Primary Schools
My DD is in sec 1 this year and was from CHIJ Kellock. From my observation, Kellock emphasis alot on language development and fitness and a all-rounded education. They do have homeworks but maybe not as much as RMPS (my newphew was fr there). My DD enjoyed and looked forward going to school everyday thorughout the last 6 years. When the girls reach school before school start and during the recess they are encouraged to run around and borrow equipment and play.

RE: Appeal Secondary One Posting
My daughter got 238 and was posted her second choice school - commonwealth sec. When I found out that COP for Crescent (her 1st choice) was 240, I was very tempted to appeal as she is a school netball player in her primary school and has a good chance of getting through. But my daughter strongly disagreed with us as she felt she’ll be able to do better at commonwealth where there are only 5 express classes and the average COP is not far from hers. Moreover she rightly pointed out that at Commonwealth she’ll be able to do triple science and double maths (a choice given to all their express students) and this opportunity might not come by in Crescent if she is at the bottom of cohort. Infact though she didn’t qualify for HMT automatically, she was allowed to take HMT after sitting for their internal assessment on the registration day. So don’t worry if your child did not get into their first choice school as every cloud as a silver lining.
Wishing all of you a happy new year. -
RE: Secondary School Third Languages
My daughter will be taking chinese as 3rd language (CSP) in sec 1. Anyone here who has a child currently doing the CSP ? How are the lessons conducted (i.e is it a fun based way) ?
