SKM mum:I have called, so far, within 2km is safe .
I took the plunge 2CS, we got in!floppy:
I register my twins for 2CS, hope they can get in. We are within 2km
Aren't you wasting your application?
With 11 vacancy and 29 registration as of yesterday, I would assume most, if not all, are < 1km.
Would suggest you contact the school to find out about the latest stats while you can. If you need to reapply elsewhere, you still have time.

RE: 2018 P1 registration exercise for 2019 intake
生生生,我关门大吉了! So upsetting!!! First, stay at home moms are encourage to go back to work, then I have to waitlist for preschool just to get my child in any so I can work. Next the ‘pink tax’, helper’s levy increment. Now the primary school, then the school bus and after school care waitlist, then the horror when all the dragon babies stepped into workforce. Oh my Lord, one whole lifetime of worries.

Sorry, rantings ahead, flame me for all I care. I do not understand lor! Now I came to hate the new internet of things! Lady luck has nothing to do with binary digits and coding. Didn’t we used to know the result pronto, on the day itself, at the school itself??? You get it done and over with on the day. Change is good but not when countless sleepless nights are sacrifice! 2nd to 21 Aug (almost 3 weeks). Now it left parents scurrying all over Singapore island to find a spot for their child. What is the use of a 1km or 2km distance priority when you can’t even get a spot at <1km? Why can’t we just fill in 5 choices and let computer luck does what it does best rather than having sleepless nights and hanging by a thread. IMH is going to be oversubscribed soon with worrying parents and children who aren’t sleeping enough due to long travelling distance for schooling.

Yes, any parent kind enough to shed any information about this school? This school has only 3 pages all in all. Not much information about FTPPS online, here or facebook. Are there parents support group? The school’s social media needs some oomph to it, especially when your students are lugging a camera around, most of the time. I do not get much information from the school’s facebook too. I kind of feel like I am talking into a well somehow, somewhat. :?:Hi parents,
I'm applying my child under the phrase 2CS. Will like to know more about the teaching culture (communication btw teachers & parents, are teachers encouraging to slower learners etc). Because there is little information about this school on the internet.
Very much appreciated for any information shared from you all~
Thank you! -
RE: 2018 P1 registration exercise for 2019 intake
Parents, I do not wish to be rude or a cold blanket but just stating the cold hard truth- if everyone sits and wait for the last day, there is going to be more crying and more surprises afte the witching hour (ala 4.29pm) sets in!! Case in point, we got a shock that there were so much more <1km and <1<2km trickling in at 15:30-16:15pm. Yes, I did call up to ask gently and politely after the registration to know the numbers and I realised we were in hot soup. Well, of course its everybody’s prerogative about when one is to register. Everyone should just be mentally prepped that first and last day stats may not be the truthful holy grail! Even if the school in my phase 2cs has 100+ vacancies now, I have mentally prepped myself that I may have to accompany my child to timbuktu everyday for schooling.

Am left with no cherries to pick! GYPS under 1-2km radar, FTPPS, <1km. Now I just have to teach my child to be prudent, err, sensible, hmm, no monkey business, mind your manners… force myself in PV then equipped myself with a light-up fly-swat that goes ‘zappp’ when a fly is caught and flick all the flies away. And try to fall in love with whatever the school dish out!!! Then tell the kids with problems to come to Auntie AGONY to solve problems rather than asking your peers. Auntie says they can’t help much at this stage, wait till they grow older.
The only song I have in mind for past 3 days is nothing about National Day but Welcome to the Jungle. -

U referring to First TPY PS I suppose? I totally feel you as well. Especially when you have a daughter.bedshat:

We didn’t manage to get in the school of choice and likely to end up with above. Which was what we were trying to avoid. It was a hard pill to swallow but wow, when you end up with a dragon baby, I will need the luck and sanity...
I suggest you monitor closely the stats for MC. If got chance for 1-2km, please go for it. As for the other further schools like Mayflower etc, lets see the TUR on Day 1...
You guessed it, thank you! FTPPS, it’s already a mouthful to pronouce for me, anything that is gonna start with a F.
Armed with the figures and stats from PCPS and KCPS and unexpected TUR at MCS (plan B? What? No plan B), I have faith that my home school distance can’t fend off the applicants from TPY North, TPY Sapphire, TPY West, TPY Rise, Bradell View and all the way to the edge of Macritchie/Lornie. It is a loong shot if I were to register. Murphy’s Law in place! -

I can totally, totally feel you! The lump in throat, the cold sweat, the I am fainting, the mind goes blank thoughts.Tell me about it! I wouldn’t function for a good whole 8th of August 2018 (that’s going to go down as one of my unforgettable anniversary date). We went for CHIJ TPYPS. Not in waitlist as of today because I reckon it is not going to be a waitlist of indemnity. This year defies all the stats or truths I have learnt or knew over the year. So seriously, I am trying my best now to psych and undo what my Singaporean mindset has been eating or taught me these days.
Yeah totally feel you. Which is your school of choice? Did you put on waitlist?bedshat:

Hi, would like to know if balloting wasn’t successful in 2C, and have to go 2CS for registration. What happens if can’t secure a space again? Can I go to a school with vacancies to register direct after 2CS? At the same time, can I still place my child’s name as waiting list on my school of choice? Thanks.
1. You can’t go direct to a school with vacancies to register even if you know the school has.
2. The school that you weren’t successful at 2cs will give you a list, a form to fill in. 3 choices has to be made, send and pray, again.
3.You can check about waiting list from school of your choice to see if they have and if you can do it at this stage. Some do have waitlist, some I feel is eternal waiting.
