Came across this Singapore Education Pathways website recently and I think it is quite useful for parents.
Most of the information is already available from MOE, but it is usually scattered across different websites, PDFs and forum discussions. This site puts things together in one place and makes it more relevant to your own child.
You can enter your child’s PSLE score or current grades and see which secondary schools, poly courses, JCs or ITE courses may be realistic. I also like the feature that works backwards from a target course and shows the grades your child would need. The subject combination planner may also be helpful for Sec 2 students, since subject choices can affect future options.
Of course, I would still verify important information with MOE or the school, as cut-off points can change every year. Some features are also paid.
Overall, I see it as a useful planning tool for parents and children to discuss their options, rather than something that should make the final decision for them.
