Michael gets $2.50 more daily allowance than Lionel. Each of them spends $4.40 a day and saves the rest. After some days, Michael saved $99 and Lionel saved $61.50. How much daily allowance does Michael get?
Ans :
Michael saves $2.5 more than Lionel per day.
To find out number of days to save $99 & $61.50 -> (99 - 61.50) / 2.5 –> takes 15 days
Michael saves each day -> 99 / 15 = 6.6
Allowance Michael gets -> 6.6 + 4.4 = 11
Hope it helps.

Vjc has both vs and cedar people feeding them via ip so the no. of students entering into vjc via o level is getting small. This is the same case as hci and rjc. Naturally their cut off will be v low.[/quote]One thing I can highlight is VS boys are very loyal to VJ. They have a sense of belongings to VJ and are proud to be a Victorian. I am not surprised that most of the VS boys will aim to go to VJ, including my DS. According to him, VJ is much more livelier than RI and TJ.zbear:

Location and access to mrt n facilities play a part I think. But on the who
whole, I am equally surprised. TJC has been rather popular in the east all these years. Looks like a lot of catch up to do for the principal to gain back popularity.
If location n accessibility to MRT plays a part, why is it VJC is more popular than TJC when TJC is more easily accessible? -

RE: Anglican High School
This is so weird. DS1 also got B3 for Normal Chinese but school did not ask him to drop. Instead, principal advised them to try and he got B3 for Higher Chinese. I am surprised AHS has different point of view. DS2 is having PSLE this year and I am considering AHS… I have to re-consider now.

My understanding as follows but not sure if my working is purely model. Hope it is correct.Anyone, pls help using model if possible:
A group of boys and girls are split into 3 classes, 5A, 5B and 5C. The number of pupils in each class is the same. The number of boys in 5A is equal to the number of girls in 5B. 1/5 of the boys are in 5C. If there are 160 more girls than boys.
(a) find the toal number of girls
(b) how many pupils are there altogether?
Assume total number of boys be 5u, then girls will be 5u+160
Class.......Boys.....Girls
5A & 5B.....4u.....4u
5C ...........u.......u + 160
------------------------------------------------
Total--------5u-----5u + 160
Since each class has same students and number of boys in 5A = number of girls in 5B, it implies number of girls in 5A = number of boys in 5B.
number of students in 5C is 1/3 of total number of students,
u+u+160 = 1/3 (5u+5u+160)
u = 80
a) total number of girls 5u+160 =560
b) total number of students 10u+160 = 960 -
