    • RE: Help! Scoliosis treatment at Precision Spine Chiropractic

Yes, the idea is to balance and strengthen the back muscles on left and right sides. If leave as it is, it may affect other parts of the body.

TTSH has physiotherapy for protruding and curved spine.

    • RE: All About Life Without Maids

I remembered during my secondary school time, I went to my friend's place after school. My friend took out a frozen pizza base, chopped some veggies, spread some butter, sprinkled the cheese and veggies on the pasta, placed in an oven and heated it. We shared the pizza for lunch.

During my time, after my school, we would take out cooked food from the fridge and steamed them. If there was no more rice, we simply cooked them using rice cooker - I still do not know how to cook rice if I am not using rice cooker  . There were frozen buns etc. We do not eat out during those days. Sometimes, mum would place hard boiled eggs or fried peanuts on the table to go with the rice. At times, canned food. I would suggest placing mixed nuts on the table too.
The kids probably won't eat lunch at home that much once they get to secondary schools. I hardly did after my primary school days. But I had full meals in the mornings before going to school.

If you are using casing, fingerprints will not be a concern though.

    • RE: KiasuParents.com Upgraded

The PM here behaves slightly differently. If you do not have message about PM box being full, the PM outbox will be cleared if the receivers have read them.

As for email notification, in general, the system will not notify you again if it has done so and you have not read the topic notified. It could also be that I set a limit to the number of emails to be sent. I have increased this number. Let's see if this problem goes away.

      Thanks for all the feedback.

      :thankyou:

    • RE: Maths Assessment Books

Graduate Maths from EPH and Distinction in Maths from Just Education are my favourites. These have questions that range from easy (or should I say, basics to assess child's understanding) to challenging, by topics. The questions are categorized or labelled so that you can identify their difficulty levels.

You may like to look at other books from Just Education, such as The Just Maths Problem Solving etc.
These can be found in various bookstores.

For GMT, if I remember, my friend bought it for me from http://www.visiblemath.com.sg center.

Thanks for the sharing, Chief. This may come just in time as we are stopping Berries for last term for my P3. What is the cost like for the tutorme Chinese lessons? I tried to check the pricing on the website but can't navigate to the drop down menu using my phone. And would the lessons adequately cover oral and composition aspects too? Thanks in advance.

It depends on the level. If I recall, P1-P3 are 12 lesson each per month for like $180 while P6 is like $230 for 8 lessons. P4 is $190 for 8 lessons.

It does cover the oral pretty well because the student will be conversing with the Chinese teacher throughout the lesson. For compo, the kids will need to write it, take a picture of it and upload to the teacher for marking.

I enquired before. A maximum of 5 students in a class. They did not have 1-1 tutoring.

I got my son to take part in the trial class. The teacher assigned to him was patient and tried to get him to discuss about the topic. She used the topic from school textbook. As I was nearby while the lesson was conducted, I realized he could not converse well in Mandarin, although he was able to write and read most of the characters the teacher threw out to him. He liked the Chinese teacher and enjoyed the lesson. So I requested for 1-1 tutoring for him, to get him to speak proper Mandarin with the teacher. Unfortunately, they did not have 1-1 tutoring then. Not sure about now though.

    • RE: Any Chinese Physician to recommend? :)

      Hi sushiking,

hm...just guessing....if your child has not recovered fully from a previous flu, probably still has throat inflammation?

Anyway, my kids and I see http://makuang.com.sg/en/Physician/25/WANG%20BEI%20MING. Do call before going, in case she is not in, or the queue is too long.
You might want to fill the physician with your child's history and what he/she has taken the past months. My girl used to see her at least twice to cure her flu and coughs when she was this young too.

      I also see http://makuang.com.sg/en/Physician/13/LI%20LING.

They are both senior physicians with Ma Guang. Click on the links to check the dates and locations where they will be practicing.

      All the best.
