I doubt the truth about your 'ds result', mindays, as you are seen as the untrustworthy main spokesperson in nyjc thread. You can simply borrow such info from a friend or relative's dc and pretend that it's yours, can't you?
You tried to crush tjc and many other jcs with nyjc and even think that nyjc has surpassed njc's results. Why throw away all your effort invested in nyjc when it's vjc you or your (imaginary) ds fancy?

I am sure the forummer you accused above is referring to his past experiences. It's just that he is unaware that this year is unique, as one can see that cop of RI and HCI JAE students have been raised to net 5. The general result of this batch is 'poorer' due to moe over-moderation or for other reason and thus net 6 is eligible for esis.

Notice that the forummer stated 'likely' to be 4 pointers or less and you swiftly jumped in to accuse him with 'so much untruths in your statements'. Such habitual rudeness and provocative attitude are uncalled for and thus when you started being obsessed with nyjc cop point in that thread, you have become an unpopular forummer there. You have declared that you were formally from vjc (i doubt you were with your kind of personality) but I find that 95% of your effort was put in nyjc thread. By quoting 'nil sine labore' to prove you or your ds is one of them is simply insulting our intelligence.

Other than 300 students increase in CJC, anybody knows the intake increase for other JCs?

VJ's intake is close to 900 (about 200 increase)
NY's intake is also close to 900 (according to it's Facebook post) (about 200 increase)
SA's intake is about 700 to 800 (about 100 to 150 increase)
PJ's intake is about 800+

NY is always popular with the JAE students for obvious reasons such as centralized location and no competition from the IP students of IP JCs. Popular with good cop from the purely O level students do not equate to being a top jc. Is that why your ds choose an IP JC, mindays?

Did NY papers as student when I was in HCJC. Thr phy paper standards are somewhat similar to what the few top tier JCs have out thr (don't feel like their standards were anywhere lower than us either). For maths their paper is considered to be challenging for an average student actually (if doing under time constraints) but is of quality as the qns are very specific and drills solidly on concepts. (NY math papers are usually put aside in our revision packages as hard papers back then, heard the papers are tougher recently)

NYJC Chem Papers are well known to be killer papers (that is my only comment tbh)... is even more cancer than my own college's papers IMO. (dat somewhat explains for their distinction rate) Last time we got this joke in chem: 5 papers from the top JCs: HC=can do, VJ=can do, NJ=can do, RJ=smart ass can do, AJ-cannot do, NY-forget it u never can do :rotflmao:

That must be in the past, bro. My daughter is doing her A levels at the moment. She mentioned that other than RI(JC) and HCI(JC) prelim papers which are killer-papers, the rest of them, including Chemistry for NYJC, are manageable and not distinguishable from other JCS papers, i.e., a combination of both easy and difficult questions.
Can you please explain how NY has 'secure almost on-par results with VJ and even surpassing NJ for A'lvls' which is very misleading? You shouldn't post such misdeclaration in public unless you have obtained all the information for comparison from these 3 JCS which obviously you are not able to. Is this your 'marketing' tactic to win top JAE pupils over to Nyjc? It's not right but despicable!
I agree that Nyjc is a good JC but please don't forcefully over-valuate it such that it becomes a laughing-stock to parents of other JCS

1. Never heard of UltimaOnline (BedokFunland) chemistry tution centre. It will be more convincing if it is well-known like Indigo, Making Sense etc.
2. He mentioned 'NYJC 2016 P1 is 'interesting' and 'delightful', not that the questions are difficult and at par with top JCs
3. Furthermore, he commented that 'hoping this Fri's P1 will be somewhere between RJC & NYJC papers'. If RJC is difficult, NYJC must be manageable to strike the balance. How did you conclude that NYJC's papers are at par with top JCs?
4. Even if you forcefully insisted they are at par on difficulty level, is it not possible that RI(JC) could have gotten a 90% passing rate whereas NYJC could have only 10% passing rate for these papers that are 'at par'? Any JC can set difficult questions but ultimately it's the outcome/result that determines the ability of the pupils and we do not have any info on that. The pupils will only suffer more if they are constantly given difficult papers beyond their ability and worse still IF this is the tactic of teachers to stretch their pupils' limits without giving sufficient guidance & support. It will kill their joy of learning.

Just heard from my niece that her cohort is not interested in graduation prom night this year. She said dat the CT reps were told only around 40 to 50 people going, and the classes were planning for chalets only after everyone finished their A levels. Tho one thing she say the thing is too expensive (she mentioned their prom is $90 when other JCs like HCJC had theirs at $60 at Gardens by the Bay)

Lack of cohesiveness among pupils of NYJCians, money or other issues? I thought a parent here mentioned the JC is like a big family? Over at RI, no such problem when their prom cost $90 too. Furthermore, wedding dinners at hotels cost over $1500 per table these days. $90 is reasonable. Even my nephew's O lvl grad night in a hotel cost $75/pax. Heard the response was very good. Those under FA were given free tickets. Surely NYJC can do better than this?

The one who posted this image on FB should do us a favour by posting the group pic of the NYJCians awardees only instead of including the non-related congregation. If he can get hold of the awardee names, surely he can take a small group pic, can't he?

Parents/Students of secondary 4 :
Will still consider enrol to the merging jcs (AJC, PJC, MJC, YJC)?
Or not considering at all (to avoid the merging state in 2019)?

If I am an eligible parent, I will definitely consider them if my DC results meet the entry criteria and prefer to go JC instead of poly. It will also depend on my DC's ability to handle the level of stress. If DC is eligible for a better ranking JC but prefers one with a more comfortable pace, then the above merging JCs will be considered.
Another with be their proximity to home.
I have friends with DCs from these merging JCs and most did very well at A-levels and gotten into their dream courses in local universities. I don't see that there will be hiccups with the merging. The tutors/lecturers will still possess the skills and expertise to teach.

Ultimately, my DC must be able to cope in his/her JC chosen as JC life is very hectic and demanding. Much depends on the students themselves and not just having good teachers around.
