Thanks for the detail reply.
Yes, am new and got overwhelmed by \"school ranking\" and registration.
Balloting will be unavoidable and sounds like moving is needed to increase the probability.
Family plays an important role but school environment as well, especially the kid spends a good portion of their time in school.
I also like to seek some insights on why Rulang is popular. Is it just an academic-driven system or it is able to provide a robust moral and character building system and thus leading to good academic result.
Definitely need a lot of good luck. Thanks.
I will share my experience as a mom to a Sec 1 boy this year (graduated in 2023). Still have a P4 girl and youngest in nursery 2.
If you’re looking for a holistic environment that balances grades and overall character development, Rulang is definitely my choice. The commitment from teachers my boy has had is exceptional, and given a choice to choose again, it’s Rulang for sure.
We moved to Yishun two years back and continued to travel to the school. We managed to transfer my girl to a nearby popular school in her P3 year. After a year of having two kids in two different schools, I can only say the difference is clear, from the amount of commitment from teachers, planning of holistic development programmes, discipline, character and resilience building etc. Despite the distance, we are now back to Rulang in P4 and will be looking to move back so that my youngest can also be in Rulang.
I can never be thankful enough for the positive parent-teacher collaboration through my kid’s growth over the years.
