      Hi chocolate2005,

My son will be joining the HCI family next year too 😄 Is the Sec 1 booklist available yet? And is the bookshop open throughout the day? Do they allow parents to just walk into the school? Thanks.
      Hi Teapot
Yes the secondary 1 textbook list is in the bookshop. I drove in so had to exchange my ID for a pass. I am not sure what time the bookshop close. I went there just around 230pm. It’s quite a walk in and I got lost. So ask around for the book shop which is near the canteen. I recall having to walk towards the hall and got to go down few steps..

On the 22nd dec, reporting time is 830am. Anyone knows what time will the event ends?

Just purely registration and purchasing of textbooks and uniform? Thanks in advance!!

moment3w3, welcome to our Hwa Chong family!

Based on past years' experience, most students only have to register and purchase items. I don't recall a fixed ending time, once everything was bought we could just go off, although there were some people who also decided to look around the school.

      Hi Moment3w3,
My Son getting into HCI next year too. I was told that it will take approximately 1 hour for registration, buying of books and uniforms in the school book shop (popular). I already bought the school uniforms and secondary 1 books. Just to avoid the crowd on 22 Dec. The Aunty in the bookshop help in getting the right sizes etc. Bought 3 sets of uniforms and 3 sets of PE attire. They accept credit card, nets and cash. Total of secondary 1 textbooks and uniforms about $380.. hope that helps...books are really heavy though so do bring along help.

Hi, do you mean year 2016 for P5 class except Xavier, all other classes are equal mix and no longer have HA classes in Joseph and Patrick?

      Hi hkelvin
Yes i think so. there are more ipad classes introduce for P5 in 2016. But i believed they are all mix ability classes. Joseph and patrick are now also mix abilty classes unlike before.

Yup school no longer offered JTP. This year they had 1 class of accelerated learning, Xavier. And Joseph n Patrick are high ability classes. All 3 classes does the additional " get me thinking" for Math to stretch the boys. As for next year, it will only be 1 Top class Xavier and the rest are mix ability class. Above are for primary 5 students. Am not sure if it’s the same for others levels.

From my understanding, \"ipad\" classes only offered end of P3.

      momresource:

Any idea which classes are the JTP class and the \"ipad\" class respectively?

What happen to those children who are in higher chinese class? Will they take 2 tests then? chinese and higher chinese paper?

      Thanks!

      Hi Mom resource,
There are 2 Ipad classes offered in 2015. 4 Joseph & 4 Michael. They have stop the JTP program already. But they have introduced 1 more Top class. 4 Xavier (accelerated class) has only 20 students. And both 4 Pat and 4 Jo are the High ability classes. Thats as far as i understand.

Thanks for all the comments. I will just stick with Berries then. Both schools are fairly popular in Singapore. Maybe more dependent on the child preference.

Hi I am also looking for a creative writing class for P3 and my girlfriend mention the same. Busy Bee at Balmoral. They should be quite good. The only drawback is that it is only on weekend and i try not to have any enrichment over the weekend… Probably got to start having 1.
