My kid is now doing standard chinese but is barrely passing (52%). She will therefore most probably be offered foundation which is fine for us.She is doing very good in english, math and science.
So I was wondering how having foundation chinese will affect her psle. Is she better with a good foundation result in chinese than a bad result in standards?
I do not wish her to be in a top school but wish her to be in a school where kids will have the same level of her in math, science and english so she will be motivates but I am afraid her chinese will lower her psle result and she will not have access to the school of her capacity.

RE: Dazhong Primary
My daughter is in Dazhong in P1 and so far we are very happy with our choice.
It is a morning session.
She is enrolled at the after school care that is in the school's premise and enjoy it. She has a few homework to do, but is able either to finish it in class or at the after school care.
Every morning she happily wakes up and is ready at 7.00am to be at school (even if we live only 2 min away of the school), she want to be at 7.10am at school to see her friends and complains if I come to pick her up before 6.00pm at the school's student care

No communication about homework
Hi, my daughter started P1 in January 2013 and since then we are at lost for whst homework does she have to do. The teachers never write anything in the communication journal. So they give verbally the instruction of the home work to the kids and up to them to remember. Is this a normal practice? How us as parents can we control our kids homework if we don’t know what they have to do? I would be glad if some of you can share how it is done in your kid’s school. Thanks

RE: [Bukit Batok] Primary Schools
Hi,
My daughter is starting P1 at Dazhong in january 2013.
Has anybody already tried their in house after school student care?
As I am working, I don’t want my daughter to be left alone all the afternoons with our maid, she is very nice, but not qualified to help her so I was thinking to register my daughter with an after school student care. Any advice?
Thanks -
RE: Dazhong Primary
We just registered our daughter in phase 2C at Dazhong.
We went to the open house day in June and were very impressed by the students there, they were enthusiast to show us the school, their work, share their experience. For us it was important to find a non competitive school, open to every children of any level and we have felt that the school was able to be open-minded. My daughter cannot wait to be in primary one already, everyday she is asking when she will start. :rahrah: -
RE: [Bukit Batok] Primary Schools
I was pretty stressed out by reading the forum and have wonder if my choice of a neighbourood school was a mistake, but after having attend Dazhong open house and secure a place for my daughter at Dazhong, I am now happy and excited.
I hope my daughter will be happy in Dazhong and cannot wait to see her starting Primary 1 next January. I hope the parent networking group for Dazhong will be more active ... :rahrah: -

Hi ChouChou,
You may wish to verify your child complete list of vaccination here, that is, if she's born here.

Hi Thanks
I finally get a reply for the health promotion board and will not need to have my daughter vaccin with BSG as it is not mandatory in Singapore and it is only a recommandation.
