Hi Anonymous5197,

I've sent an email via your email address anonymousandmyjouney@gmail.com but seems like it didn't deliver. Is the email adddress correct?

I hope to receive your set of notes and papers except Biology which she is not taking. Also hope to receive your hard copy of the S.S. which I believed will help her much. My address will be given to you if you can give us the hard copy and I can remit you the post fees to your account too.

Hope that with your notes and after asking her to read your blog, she can push herself harder. Thank you and wish you all the best in your JC.

Best rgds and Happy New Year,
Chris
Hello! I am an olevel graduate student from 2013 batch. I am not sure if visual text is sending you guys the papers so maybe i can help:) I have got my own resources/notes as a student and papers from some schools. So you can leave me a message if you need notes/papers from sec 1-4, havent deleted my stuff. I only have limited resources though, but i will try to see what i can do to help. Don't worry because i am really just a student and wouldnt spam you.

Here's my blog about my journey through the olevels, still updating.

Maybe it would be of help you to guys:)

ohh and i can only do this until 5 feb, because school's starting!

Hi Chris,

The email address is supposed to be anonymousandmyjourney@gmail.com
Maybe it was spelt wrongly in one of the blog post causing this problem. Do send me an email on the level and subjects of the ws/notes your daughter would require.

The social studies notes have been given away already, but I would really recommend my tutor as his teaching and notes did help a lot (ss D7 in sec 3 to A1 in olevels).

Wishing you and your family a good year ahead~
• RE: Secondary School Geography

My daughter now in Sec 2 and going to prepare to have the option for either SS with Elective Geography or Core Geography. My question is : is it easier to do or better to do Elective Geography or Core Geography?

The School told us to take 2 Humanities subjects which is Combined Humanities + Core Geography or Core History or Core Lit. We can’t decide to take SS/Elective Geog + Core History or SS/Elective History + Core Geog. Lit is totally out for her.

Any experience or infos? Thank you.

• RE: O-Level Additional Math

Thank you for your working and answer.

But my daughter's teacher gave the answer a p:q = 5:4 instead of 4:5.

I also got 4:5 as answer initially.

Can ignore this, I already got the workings and answer. Thank you.
Please help A Sec.2 Maths question of Proportion.

Q) The scale of map P is 1:p and the scale of map Q is 1:q. If the same area is represented as 32sq.cm. on map P and 50sq.cm. on map Q, calculate the ratio p:q.

Kindly show workings as well.

Thank you.

1/p = sqrt(x/32) => p = sqrt(32/x)
1/q = sqrt(x/50) => q = sqrt(50/x)

=> p/q = sqrt(32/50) = sqrt(16/25)
=> p:q = sqrt(16) : sqrt(25) = 4 : 5
• RE: O-Level Additional Math

Thank you very much TheOliveTree, especially the detailed workings.

Now I know how to explain to my daughter. But I think there is a slight mistake;
50q^2=32p^2
p^2/q^2=50/32 instead of 32/50.
Thus p/q = 5/4
The answer p:q = 5:4

Thanks once again.

TheOliveTree:
Hi chrisu,

Determine the scale for area first from the given linear scale.

Map P
1 cm : p cm
1 cm^2 : p^2 cm^2
32 cm^2 : 32p^2 cm^2

Map Q
1 cm : q cm
1 cm^2: q^2 cm^2
50 cm^2 : 50q^2 cm^2

Since the actual areas represented on Map P and Map Q are the same,

50q^2=32p^2
p^2/q^2=32/50
p/q = sqrt (32/50)
p/q= 8/10 = 4/5

Ratio of p:q = 4:5

Hope this helps.
