Yes, i wanted to comment that but i edited..Pardon my ignorance, how to interpret the left side under Distinctions A1 & A2, does it mean 78 students score a total of 5 or 6 points?
      That means 78 students scored combinations of 5s & 6s (A1 & A2). E.g.
      6A1, 5A1 & 2A2, 4A1 & 2A2, ……
      Or
      5A1, 4A1& 1A2, 3A1 & 2A2, ……

Anyone knows how did the kids fare for O level last year? Nothing mentioned again during the parent's briefing.

MSP is offered if you have not taken Malay or Higher Malay at PSLE and if you get AL 24 or better. This is from the moe website.
But my 2 older girls were never offer MSP though they were from the T-score era. Based on AL system my older kid should be around AL8-9 whereas now my son scored AL11 is offered MSP

Did your son take Conversational Malay module in P3/P4/P5 before? Maybe this could be the reason? What about Bahasa Indonesia/Arabic? Was your son offer those too?
No, he never taken any Malay module before. Neither did he take HCL 😂😂
And yes, besides MSP, he is offered bahasa Indonesia/ Arabic too.
I’m just puzzled how MOE allocate/ offer MS.

      Hi All,

Any idea how MOE allocates Malay Special Programs? My son is offered MSP on top of 3rd language options.
My daughter who did better than his brother 2 years ago in PSLE was not offered MSP

My son’s command of Chinese not very good, in terms of oral. So for him, he will likely say Zoo coz that’s the easiest that he can think of. Maybe for the stronger students they will crack their brains for Sentosa or USS etc. His classmate who is usually very strong in oral didn't think about zoo and could only say Singapore beach, she didn’t know the Chinese word for the other places like Sentosa.

True enough, I asked him if he got that qn, what would he have talked about? He said 动物园。
He did his chinese on Day 1 though, different topic.

I guess it’s one of the benefits of being weaker at spoken Chinese.
This is so true. My son is very weak in chinese oral. He scored 34/50 for Chinese prelim oral only. He came home from Day 2 chinese oral and commented it was difficult. He mentioned something about hols in Singapore and I said you should used Sentosa as an example. He said he doesn’t know what is Sentosa in Chinese so he used what he remembered from P4/5 textbooks. East coast park, play sand & made sand castle. 😂😂😂
I told him that’s definitely a very good example. I didn’t expect him to remember those vocabs. Lol

May I know, for p4 (last year p3), is there any award for those in top 10%? Cause the Merit Award is only for those in top 25%. Thank you!
There’s always a top 10% before the top 25%. Technically top 25% should be 11-25% because top 10% would have received either Edusave Bursary or Scholarship.

Anyway this was extracted from MOE website for P3-P6 :
Students who are within the top 25% of their school’s level and course in terms of academic performance, have demonstrated good conduct and whose monthly household income does not exceed $6,900 (or per capita income does not exceed $1,725). Students must not be recipients of an Edusave scholarship.

Physical ceremony already passed on Feb for my secondary DS. But not yet receive any letter for my JC2 DS.
They said difference ceremony. Not sure why??
Jan/Feb ceremony is meant for MOE Award & Scholarship. Example Edusave scholarship (top 10%), Good Progress, ECHA & EAGLE as well as Edusave Bursary (top 25% but with household income cap at not exceed $6900.
Apr ceremony is Merit Award, is organizing by PA via community centres. This award is for those who scored top 25% but ineligible for Bursary due to household income. Merit Award doesn’t come with cash reward. Instead as a token CC will give out Popular vouchers depending on level.
