Salmon oil has a very distinctive taste and smell and it is not exactly pleasant with other foods.

Why must force feed your girls? If they don't like salmon, there are many other types of fish that are also good for them. Cod fish, kurau, sardines, mackerel, eel, white bait, etc.

They dont quite like fish. But fish is better than other meat. Now trying to get them eat more. Maybe other type of fish steamed with bean sauce..tastier

      Hi Mrs kiasu,

Try Threadfin and cod fish. My children loves eating these 2 fishes.
I steamed them and they love it.

I went to your blog, wanted to leave a comment but dunno how to do so, despite creating a Google+ account :?

How do you blanch the meat? Boiling water, add the meat, wait for how long before remove the meat?

You can sign in with your Google account to leave comment. If not, leave an anonymous comment lo.

Anyway, bring water to a boil in a pot. Then you put in pork ribs or chicken bones to blanch for about 2-3 mins until no more raw and reddish sights on the meat. Then you pour away the hot water and rinse your pork ribs or chicken bones(rinsing will remove more scums from it). Then you can use the pork ribs or chicken bones to boil your soup.

Can save so much time with the pressure cooker. The soup looks nice too.

I like DaddyKC soup, does not look cloudy.

thanks! Probably I blanched pork or chicken to removes the blood and scums which will affect the soup taste and cloudiness. I also sieve off oil from the surface of soup, healthier for family. Before I ladle into soup bowl, I sieve again.

      haha, clearer than Newater

My home ABC soup is your Variant 2. But when I need to clear my fridge or unexpected plan to cook the ABC soup then I will mix whatever I have at home.

DaddyKC, may I know how long do you normally cook the ABC soup? In slow cooker and all ingredients put in at the same time?
I use a electric pressure cooker from Phillips. It takes me 30 mins to soften the vegetables whereas it could take you at least 1 hour to cook it until the same softness. I throw in all ingredients except salt.Only when the soup is done, salt is added last.

you can refer to my blog, I have precise instructions there.
