floppy:Yes, meet the COP. I guess not many transfer out from VS to other schools...Are you applying to the IP or O stream?daniel_tancl:
Not sure if a re-appeal or opt to be in waiting list if someone else transfer out in Jan19 helps. Right now, need to accept the outcome and move forward in his present school. I got the feeling that he will miss his classmates in VS and the opportunity to continue playing floorball (bcos his current school doesn’t offer floorball CCA). Will also motivate him to work hard .. probably won’t encourage transfer aubsequently as i’d prefer him to hv an uninterrupted learning journey
If IP, you can consider O.
Unless you meet the COP, re-appeal will only give you the same outcome. Transfer won’t take place so early, typically in the latter half of year 1 onwards. Transfer is highly disruptive and if your son is doing well in his school, should just stay. Encouraging him to work hard - Nil Sine Labore.

Thanks abachee! I’m quite confident my son can adapt to the new environment and adapt well. Will motivate him to overcome this setbackdaniel_tancl:
Disappointed that appeal to VS was not successful. When I spoke to my son, he seems alright though. Hopefully he is really fine because that is his dream school
Don't be disappointed my friend. There will always be a chance for your son to get into VS.
All he need to do is to stay focus, be determined and study hard and attained excellent result in the current school he posted to for the next 2 years and also try to be actively participating in his CCA with some leadership post and he can apply for VS Admission to IP at year 3.
Motivate him and give him direction to go all out to achieve his admission to his Dream school.
Below are the link:

My boy already got a placed for him in VS and we will welcome your son to join us in VS with open arms.
Tell your son to be strong, determined and stay focus and he can achieve the impossible.

Don't feel disappointed. Continue to work (study) hard in his current posted school, continue to appeal for Victoria next 2 years, using his year-end (2019 / 2020 Sec 1 & 2) posted school results + Psle results combined. Also prepare mentally to sit for entrance tests cum interview, at end of Year 2 -

RE: Which Secondary school to choose in the East
Dreamgear:
COP doesn’t meet AHS. Anyway, after visiting MSH, the Chinese culture is too much for DS to accept. Narrowed down options to either NgeeAnn / TKSS. Need help on reviews of TKSS and NASS
How about anglican high?daniel_tancl:
Hi, any reviews and comments for these schools. Visited TKSS and NASS and both are alright academically in my opinion. My boy’s result likely can get into these schools and he didn’t take HCL. Distance is not an issue as they are all accessible to where I’m staying. I personally feel affiliation to JC is important:
Tanjong Katong Sec (COP 231, all Express)
Temasek Sec (COP 231)
Maris Stella (COP 235, Affiliation to CJC)
Ngee Ann Sec (COP 237, DS has affiliation as he is from NAPS) -

RE: Edusave Scholarship Award
Goodluck8:
If ur child entitled the edusave scholarship which is top10% of ur child sch cohort, he wont receive the edusave merit bursary award notify letter which is the top 25% of ur child sch cohort. Ur child will only reveive the edusave scholarship cert and cash.Ran1977:
Just wonder top 25% for lower primary would need to have average score of 90% and above? My DDs didn't manage to get last year but got it this year, so curious about the top 25% cutoff
My son who was in P1 last year also got the letter that he is the top 25% of the cohort + Edusave Certificate of Academic Achievement.
I wonder too how do they determine the top 25% of the cohort.
Also if we apply for the Edusave Merit Bursary (assuming we qualify) does it mean that we cannot be entitled for the Edusave Scholarship in P5 and P6 later?
Which is a better choice between the 2?
Based on mine past experience.
From the Edusave Certificate of Academic Achievement, it is only a recognition that he is in top 25%. To have cash vouchers, he needs to be in top 10% right? How about Good Progress Award? My boy scored the same % in both P1 & P2, but he got nothing in P1. In P2, he has both the Edusave Certificate of Academic Achievement & Good Progress Award, plus cash. Confused.... :scratchhead: -

RE: Ngee Ann Primary
Had enrolled my twin boys for english/chinese on weekends and they are already complaining too much work and little time to play, so I didn’t sign them up for Nueromath. I guess two academic lessons are enough…

My DS does not have Maths tuition. This is the only Maths enrichment he has. It has been working thus far.
Hi,
I thought the neuromath is just any other enrichment program rt? So you enrolled your child? Maybe can provide some feedback after the program. Might consider next time....among 3 subjects, my boys get the lowest for Maths ... Haaa ...irony because his daddy always get A .....
