• RE: All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

We were staying at Toh Yi Estate and my 3 children P5, P3, P1 were studying at PHPPS, ( Pei Hua)

When we moved to Lorong Ah Soo at end of Feb 2015, it was logistically challenging to send all the children to school, spanning both AM/PM sessions.

There were no school bus service running from LAS to PHPPS, we checked with premium bus service, where they use sedan car to send to school, ( each child costs $420 both ways.)

So we applied for nearby school for the children for transfer, Boy, SAJS/ ACJS and girls PLMGPS , but these being elite schools had long waiting list and replied will get back to us when there is vacancy.

So we looked around our neighbourhood and found Xing Hua Primary School which was around 3 bus stops away.

I contacted the school and explained our situation to them, the admin staff called me to go down and submit request for transfer application form.

In less than a week, we got reply from XHPS, they readily accepted all three of my children.

The application process was pretty simple, apply at new school, wait for principal approval / take the form back to old school/ get principal approval/ release the students.

Since day 3 of Term 2 , my children started attending the new school, and we found neighbors also attending the XHPS.

The children adjusted and adapted pretty well into the new school.
how time flies, it's almost coming to end of term and holidays are starting in a weeks time..

question
any suggestions for holiday activities for children age 2-7?
thanks

yes, see below the many options :
(1) sign up for holiday classes (dance, speech/drama, art, craft, pottery, robotics, swim, etc)
(2) oversea trip, malaysia towns/cities, fruit/durian/ostrich farms
(3) cruise to nowhere or somewhere
(4) visit the zoo, birdpark, night safari, science center, snow city
(5) try rock/wall climbing, ice-skating, roller blading, skate boarding, cycling, canoeing, wind surfing, sailing, etc...
(6) visit one of the NPark parks, park connectors, nature reserves (walk, cycle, picnic)
(7) trek the rail corridor
(8) picnic at St John/Kusu/Ubin
(9) dental visit

Very busy if you try ALL... just select a few and the kids should be quite occupied.... especially if they need to help \"prepare\" for a picnic too!! šŸ˜„

Look out for the kids activities organised by PA..I joined a 1 night camp at the Zoo 2 yrs back..was a fun experience for kids though mummy didn't sleep the whole night cos never go camping before  and also cos of all the animal noises around and fear of crocs/ snakes from the reservoir.. šŸ˜† But was fun cos u get to go to the behind the door scenes to see what the keepers do..
Thanks for all the information
something for me /wife to think about
:thankyou:
