Would like to share my thought and not sure how to overcome this. Until P6 prelim this year my son got 90 and above for Maths. In prelims, he got only 82. After that, he started to lament, he is not that good enough, not prepared well this and that.

Daily instead of preparing for PSLE, now I’m drilling for his positive attitude, mental strength to face challenge, motivating well enough to face the questions in the final exam.

Really, I find very tough these days and don’t know how to boost his will power ??

First Scenario:

At First
M : V Total
60 + 10u : 15u 25u + 60

Change
-10u : -15u

At End

60 : 0

Second scenario :

At First,
M : V
15p + 80 : 24p 39p + 80

Change,
-15p : -24p

At End,
80 : 0

Since the amount for V in 2 scenario’s are same, 15u = 24p, 3u = 8p
Total will be the same.
25u + 60 = 39p + 80

Make them as same units,
25u + 60 = 40p + 60

substitute 25u + 60 with 40p + 60,

equation is 40p + 60 = 39p + 80
p = 20
V -> 24p
24p = 480 (a)

M -> 15p + 80
15p = 300
M -> 300 + 80 = 380 (b)

Sorry dear for my late replies. Thanks for your concern.
Busy in helping my dd for the common test2. This week is the holiday. Now preparing for the Eoy. In Common test2, she has shown little bit of improvement in math.

I’m following what other fellow kiasuians advised me. I think my dd still need to more effort. Don’t know how to the roll the ball ? Hmm, let us see.
