RE: Plans after JC
What would u define "great" as? Each university has their own pros and cons for different people.

RE: Mid year JC1 results
JC Syllabus is a huge step up from O levels.
Students need to have consistent hard work to survive well. While it may seem tough, be assured that consistent hard work is needed to score well in poly and uni too. Consistent hard work is also required when one steps into society. So this is a good training before uni life and work life. -
RE: All About A Levels
Both JCs are good, although TJC has a much longer history than MJC. But personally, I would choose TJC.
If you are seriously undecided, choose the JC that is nearer to your house.
Congratulations on your excellent O levels science results! -
RE: i scored 27 for O's can i still appeal into a jc? urgent!!
27 points is an average of 4 points for each subject of your L1R5.
I wouldn’t suggest you going the JC route, because the demands of a JC curriculum is tremendous, and especially for H2 Maths and H2 Physics, it builds on your O levels knowledge.
JC teachers assumed you are well versed with your O levels curriculum, and if you aren’t, it will be really tough to survive JC. -
RE: * Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) - College
Unless you have something very special, e.g. some skills for some CCA (top school swimmer, top badminton player), it’s highly unlikely that HC will accept your appeal.

For JC Students: Unsure of how to choose your subject combi?
Hello, this compilation is for JC1 2013 students.
In early 2012, I have given a seminar on how JC1 students should choose their subject combination. In essence, plan from what you want to work, to what you want to study in university, to JC subject combinations.
Why?
I have had students who chose subject combinations based on what their friends or parents or teachers say. In the end, after A levels, they realised they could not get into the university course of their choice because they did not take the right subject combination!
This year, instead of having a seminar, I have decided to recompile all my slides into a printable pdf.

* I am told that google docs does not support IE8, hence those using IE8 will be unable to download.
Hopefully, it will help students and make students think deeper about their future when considering their subject combination.
