• RE: All About Full-Time Maids

actually hiring maids is really a gamble. we've had many bad experiences with maids and some even end up scarring our children or the elderly. but that doesn't make all of them bad eggs as well.

as with all people, there are some good ones and some bad ones. had a great experience with my maid of 12 years, she was a fantastic home keeper, great patient and understanding individual and took care of the children so well she was like a mom to them.

unfortunately she needed to return to her husband in phillipines. 😞

      Hi Mummys & daddys,

My boys came home today and told me that a boy from 3H just passed away from high fever complication. Anyone knows if its true or the school boys rumour mongering ?
sadly, it's true. My friend is a teacher there and even they could not hold back their tears when the boy gave up the fight. It was just a span of 2 months from the time he came back from June hols trip, contracting pneumonia and passing away.

    • RE: Dengue Fever

this is a big issue in my neighbourhood as well. Kena fined a couple of times already even though we tried to empty all possible containers of water. The maid just isn't careful enough and it's hard to moniter when we come back at night. 😞 I told her enough is enough. The next fine willl be paid by her. Sometimes, i think we need to let them feel the pinch in order to be more considerate.
Stopped facial for many many years and last year started with a neighborhood facial.

Regretted badly. Then I was introduced to Bella SkinCare @ JP. Paid ~$100 for the trial (intensive hydration type). I felt my face turned more radiant and a lot smoother (the neighborhood scarred and caused a number of infected pimples plus lotsa small hard bumps etc). Convinced, I signed up a 'half-package' ie. package price but half the number of sessions ~$140 each session.

1+ month later, I also started using SKII too (basic - Treatment Essense & Signature Cream). Have been going Bella facial and using SKII for the last 5 months, would say I'm happy with the results. With the improvement, I will be downgrading my Bella facial to a normal maintenace once existing intensive is completed (think ~ $70 per session for maintenance). Frankly, as I started both around same time, dunno who's the saviour....but just sharing my case 🙂

      Hi,

I've been considering going to Bella after some of my friend's recommendation and saw a branch at Nex which is near where I lived. I have alot freckles on my face and my eye bag also quite heavy! I heard facial does help to improve the condition but I'm scared of pain! Does it hurts doing the facial at Bella? How is the facial treatment like? My friend told me about Bella's facebook welcome pack, can receive full premium facial at a discount price and some vouchers just by liking them on facebook! I have liked them on facebook, but havent tried out their facial yet. Feel like getting more feedback before going for their facial treatment. Do share with me thanks! 🙂

      Hi,
sorry for the late reply.....haven't come to this thread for a while, so didn't realize  Frankly, I'm not sure about the facebook thing, so can't really comment. As for the facial, think they have lotsa different types, so eventually gotta take the consultant's words/recommendation. B4 signing up, I did some internet surfing and seems like there's good & bad reviews, but mostly due to the consultants eg. hard selling etc....but then again, it all depends on luck. Mine at JP is quite OK.

On the facial, I did a trial before deciding to sign up. As mentioned, I was scarred, dull-looking and the face was full of small hard zits which made my face felt prickly. After the trial, I felt GOOD, seriously good 😄 Mine was the intensive hydration type......I actually monitored my face for a week before I decided it worked for me. But since yours is freckles and eyebag which is of different condition from mine....guess, the only way is for you to do a trial to decide. As for the pain level, I have tried 2 different ladies.....basically as a customer, you can decide the pain threshold. So if too painful for you, tell them, rightfully they will lessen the force. Otherwise, ask for another person the next time.
Thanks for sharing about the Bella skincare treatment. I'm looking forward to radiant skin too. I'm wondering if black head extraction can be painless? My threshold is very low ...

    • RE: All About Aircon (New, Maintenance, related components)

Glad i found this thread. My units are ready for chemical servicing. Am going to try Coolserve as there’s many good reviews on their service. i always prefer companies who go for long term relationships with their customers.

    • RE: Hair Loss

Has anyone tried the advanced hair booster from Svenson here? I’m quite keen to try it because the reviews on the other forum is rather good.

I’ve used Regaine and it worked for a while but the moment i stopped, the hair loss problem came back? Do users have to be dependent on this? Any side effects? I told my parents in law and they told me to use brandy to rub onto the balding spots. Don’t think that works and besides, i really don’t want to smell like a walking brandy bottle!

i am happy that my son got into Maris. any idea why they reduce intake tis year for p1 2012?

how is the catered food now? still got problem?

Guess the school are reducing the number of students per class. To me, the catered food is not appetitizing, most of the time, the boys did not finish the food.

I've seen the catered food. You won't believe the kind of portion at times.

Fruit : 1/8 of an orange or 3 grapes! They may be kids but certainly not hamsters! Why the tiny ration?

    • RE: Kitchen cures for common ailments

whatever you do, don’t use toothpaste or butter for scalds. It will only increase the temperature on the affected area and worsen it.

Run cool water until the pain subsides.

    • RE: Losing Weight via Slimming Centres

Adanial , great that you lost weight on the treadmill. Is the maintence costs of the machine high? My friend told me that you need to service it every year. If the weather is good, i much prefer to jog around the estate with my fave exercise music blasting away. Always feel good to sweat it out, but it's hard to find the energy to do so after a day's work.

My hubs is keen to get a rowing machine and we're exploring that. Only thing is finding a space for this and finding the motivation to use it! Ha, maybe that's why i was keen to try out the Marie France toning treatment. Irritating tummy is getting bigger by the day ( i hope it's only my imagination) and i'm getting shy to undress in front of hubs now. 😞
