Elitelab, are you sure you are from RGPS?EliteLab:
Not possible? Look, more girls qualified after the first screening this year. 14 from my dd's class alone! 15 from another class I know of! A total of 90 plus students sat for the second selection test, according to some parents. I think the figure does add up somewhat, cos even the pupils are sharing similar numbers. Anyway, I just wanted to help the moms trying to complete their option forms for GEP. Let me repeat: NOT OFFICIAL until the school says so.
It is so common to have more than half the class to clear thru the 1st screening. For 2nd round, less than 8 of them in each class make it and I am talking about the best 3 classes. Both my children have gone thru and they are now in GEP currently. Thus, the statistics on this estimation is incorrect.
There are NO BEST 3 CLASSES at P3. Classes remain multi-talented and girls are only differentiated from P4 onwards. Other mommies, please verify.
:please:
Go n find yrself how many cleared GEP last yr in RGPS. Where I am coming fr is that the no u have gathered is obviously INFLATED. -

The total number going around is twenty plus, closer to thirty. and it's just based on what some parents gathered.
No 'official' figures ok?
RGPS seems to be quite discreet about this in a good way. No announcements, even congratulations are quiet, at least for my dd's class. The form teacher handled out the first screening results outside the classroom and told the girls to be sensitive to others. The final results in the yellow envelope... She just called out the names that's all. The rest of the class actually figured what the envelope was for themselves and congratulated the selected ones. Most importantly, nobody cried over this unlike some of the stories I read elsewhere on this forum.
Not possible with this figure. Last yr, less than 15 made it to GEP. Based on statistics, reputable schools will have abt 5-20.
Mrs Yue did not answer too when a parent asked the principals of GEP centres to reveal figures.
I'm quite happy that life is still normal, actually. -

Hi Lynn, thanks for yr pm n sharing yr sentiments ! To me, it doesn't matter if the child is in GEP or not. My DS is in GEP n he mingles well with other classes. Importantly, it is the value and upbringing that makes the difference. I can't imagine what this girl will turn out to be in future. If this parent continues to instill such character building, it will do more harm. Told DS to keep a distance away fr her.Yeah, Starrenee, indeed so much for focusing on the elite!
I even overhead, some parents condemn all the mainstream students, saying they are a bunch of bad kids.
Cheers -

Hi phtthp,do u know which primary school from P1 to P3 this girl came from - before she got transfered into P4 GEP at TN? This may help to narrow down which P4 GEP girl she is. After all, there're only about 2 GEP classes at TN, at P4.
obviously, her mother is the \"kiasi\" mentality type - worried that other classmates in her girl's P4 class outshine her, ahead of her girl. :yikes: Thus, always trying to dig info from her competitor classmates parents what enrichment programme(s) their kids take. If they perform better than her girl, she probably copycat.
ask yr son stay away from this monster girl. You never know what she may do to yr son or her classmates one day.
Yes, I agree totally. It is just that I cannot imagine such uncalled behaviour of this parent cum child. Actually, I already gotten the name but din want to put this child into embarrassment. Just tell your kids to stay away fr one with 2 long pony tails and spectacle. Short and slightly fat. She is from pure GE class not bicep. DS did mention previously that teacher told this girl to remove big clips - attracting too much attention. -

EliteLab, is your son in pure GE or bicep?
Hi Davos, he is in pure GE. Is yr child also in the GEP? -
RE: Tao Nan
Just want to feedback on this TN super sensitive and kiasu parent whose has only 1 child - DD is in GEP P4 currently.
Do u know how she teaches her DD - Tell her DD to cherry pick and mingle with smart ones only. For those on mediocre ratings, don’t mix. Heard fr my DS that this parent ( real auntie in late 40’s with short hair and wearing sandals ) keeps asking the top scorers which tuition class they attend which DS din want to disclose.
The best part is DS told me that this classmate of his is quiet but a real monster. Complain to her mother and then she will complain to the tr. DS is one of the victims here and din even know what really happens. Piss off with her actions.
