Hi all, would like to ask about Affiliated Secondary schools. Many of these have high COP range for students from non affiliated Pri schools. But for affiliated Pri school, the COP can be very low.
Is it impt to look at the Affiliated Pri Sch COP to gauge the possible mixture of students ? Or should this even be a consideration? Or just totally irrelevant point to even think about ?
thank you

Thanks Timmy. was looking at Hai Sing but it appears to be very far as well. For schools these range, really not worth travelling time isn't it? So distance most impt or the school?
If willing to travel a bit, can consider St Gabriel (225). Bedok View (218) might be the most logical choice?Faraway\" post_id=\"2004802\" time=\"1606447855\" user_id=\"189734:

it is not first come first served, surely the school will pick someone with good sec 1 results, when they are looking to fill a vacancy in sec 2 of the following year.[/quote]thank you, will have to start enquiring early i guess.

Express to express, most of the time, it is based on your school exam results, there will be no internal school exam. It is like transferring pri sch.
Thanks for the info. In this case, would it be first come first serve (base on how early you register or higher rank in the waitlist?), or based on your sec 1 results at existing school?
Thanks again. -

Thanks Swc, in this case, to transfer in secondary schools, it is not based on own school's exam results. There is a need to go to the desired school and take their tests.Faraway\" post_id=\"2004645\" time=\"1606399363\" user_id=\"189734:

It is possible. If you want to transfer to another school, whether from express to express, or from express to IP, around end Sep, you need to call up the school you are interested in and register your interest with them. Your child will then be asked to take the school's internal exam around mid to end October. The school will then inform you whether your child has been successful.
thanks for this information. it is helpful as no idea this is how it works.

There is NO transfer, from O-level into IP, at the end of Sec 1.
Sec 1, the entire year, is just for you to get aclaimatized to the new Secondary school environment.
Sec 1,
is to give you time, to \"warm up\" your seat because you just finished your PSLE, so you need time to settle down and get used to juggling with 8 subjects now, from your previous past Psle 4 subjects only. Double the dosage of study work-load expectations
Transfer from O-level to IP track, can only arise & take place at the end of Sec 2 AFTER your Term 4 year end exam streaming, into choosing Sec 3 subject combination .
Schools need to look at your past two years of track record, that is, both ( Sec 1 and Sec 2), to ascertain if you are suitable or not, to transfer across from O-level into IP curriculum. There will be a clearance interview, for short-listed Sec 2 students keen to transfer across from O-level into IP.
Hope this is clear
How about at the end of sec 1, transfer to another secondary school same Express level? is there such possibility?
thanks

And can anyone share the criteria and possibility of transferring from O level track to IP within the school by the end of Sec 1?
Many thanks!

I would suggest a shorter journey to save valuable sleep and study time. Unless you have a strong decision on certain schools, lower COP schools are also good schools.
Thank you for your suggestion. Is affiliation to JC an impt consideration? I found 22+ school (Hai Sing) but about 20 mins drive (bus + train probably 50 mins to 1 hour) with JC affiliation. THe 21X schools nearby no affiliation.
just hope to make the best choice for secondary school outcome. -

Hello all
My child scored 226 but there is no school nearby with any 220+ range to select. All are much higher like 334, 335, or lower about 218, 213 . So for the lower ones I believe should be able to get in.
I am wondering should we just select the 21x schools? Or travel much further to 220+ schools.
I realized many schools do not provide O Levels outcome in their website. Is there any place where we can check the O levels outcome? Thank you
Thanks
