    • RE: 2011 PSLE Discussions and Strategy

DS found Paper 1 easy, yet has lost 4 marks (known!). He panicked for Paper 2, ended up doing 5 questions using guess-n-check method. He said he worked backwards and the answers from these were correct. Glad he had time to check but is it totally acceptable to use this method? He says it is. After all that time i spent coaching the various methods…and he ended up using guess-n-check (‘primitive’ method imo, hahaha). I am going to catch Johnny English tonight to cheer myself up.

      English \"easy\", math \"easy\", CL2 \"maybe can pass\" 🤷

Science tomorrow...hopefully it will be alright.

      Hi All,

With the PSLE results, does anyone know what sort of marks are classified under A*/A/B/C... ??
Sorry, hope i am making sense here.

Just preparing myself...hahahaha...my ds MT is really not that good...so wondering if it will be a 'B' or maybe even a \"C\" 😞

Some ideas on the score/grading system from the experts here will be much appreciated!
      :thankyou:
      Hi
Based on what my older two went thru, about 40% of the cohort gets A and A* for English, Math and Science. For Chinese, about 80% of cohort gets A or A*. Ultimately it is the actual T score for each subject that counts.

Happy that Chinese oral is over. DS failed CL oral in P5, and when he said CL psle oral today was easy …I am over the moon. Was worried when I saw yesterday’s discussion on the "student activity corner". Today’s CL pic and conversation topic seemed relatively easier, thankfully for him who is "yellow banana" type

Hi. I am new here, brand new. DS has acsi co but we did not tell him. He says he does not want to know outcome, so that he will not be \"cocky\" in his revision. So for this Friday session, obviously he will not be going but dh will go. Is that ok? He only applied to acsi coz he is a true blue acsian

It's good news so I see no harm in letting him know. And he should attend the talk with his father. I'm sure he can handle the good news without becoming 'cocky'. Tell him to give himself some credit. 🙂

Hmmmmm. Consequence of me telling him now, if he does not do as well as he what he is aiming for.....Hmmmmm. Nah, i think I will just keep quiet till after psle. Thanks anyway.

That is a good boy of yours. And congrats on the CO to ACSI. That is really a hard question to tackle. If he is already a true blue acsian, I guess he is already quite familiar with the school, I will say it is ok not to attend, since it was his choice to concentrate on his revision. My 2 cents worth of advice. Hope it helps.

      Thank Q
