Just shifted in Dec. Was tenanted out for a couple of years.

I understand that for the ballot for above 2km, there are about 30 for 9 places.

And wow! what a lot of posts of the SCGS thing. A bit of reflection though:

If you are prepared to lie to get your kid into a school or your choice, then you have to be prepared for the consequences if you get caught.

I don't know whether it is so easy to get the info on addreses even if one knows the VP or Principal etc. Because that person, I reckon, would be in breach of the Official Secrets Acts if that person releases such info.

I was lucky. My daughter is from 2010 P1 cohort (ie registered in 2009). No balloting for within 2 km that year. We bought a place opposite St Nics after that.

To be honest, I am surprised that SJIJ will bellot for under 2 km this year.

Why is MOE website showing ACSJ 79Apps and SJIJ 80 Apps?
Thought they have called up those >1KM to pull out their app. Did anyone get the chance to verify the actual APP with the schools?

I think this is the first time SJIJ has had to ballot for phase 2C (under 1 km) in like .... forever! :scared:

I would greatly appreciate some advice on the followings:

1) With less than a week to phase 2B, has anyone ever tried to rent a place within 1 km of choice of school within days?

2) Is there a requirement stating the duration of stay in the rented place?

3) Any other requirements to be observed if we were to get a place within days?

There is no fixed requirement whether pre-application or post-application as to how long you have to stay / will stay / have been staying at the property.

As long have you have a properly executed rental agreement, you can go to any Police Station to change the address in your NRIC.

Here is the crunch. When you change the address in your NRIC, you are saying that the new address is now your \"residential address\". ie. that you stay there. Make sure that that is true or it will amount to making a false declaration. It is important to be honest.

At the registration itself, all that will be relied on is the address in your NRIC.
