      ...My kid has been creating all sorts of elaborate games with full stories & characters in his mind since P1...initially he would just tell me about them...then he started drawing them out into comics...then he wrote them into books...and now the Roblox Studios game creator app is just another medium for him to make those RPG games into reality. The coding scripts are just what he has to pick up in order to execute his imagined world.[/quote]
      Sounds to me like your child has a talent for games development and coding.

      The suitable DSA route for him based on this talent might be robotics / coding or something similar. If there is are school(s) that is looking for such talents and if the school is suitable for him, this is what I would do if I'm you:

      Step 1: Create a portfolio of his works and make it available online, could be via a blog or some means,
      Step 2: Include the hyperlink to this webpage in the DSA application under the \"Section II: Non-school-based Awards/Activities\" section.

      Singapore needs more engineers and creators... best wishes.

      May I bother you further (because I am a kiasu parent :-P), when you say \"PSLE results ....above average compared to other schools\", could you kindly elaborate more, even if it is a general statements or impressions.

      The school principal showed the actual figures, both national average figures (NAF) and CHIJK figures (CF) and CF > NAF - I recall it's the case for most if not all subjects.

      Hi Parents,

      May I have feedback on CHIJ Kellock? Is it a school with good culture and academic performance?
      Yes she is.

      Ratio between Values:Academic, I would put it at 55%:45%

      Earlier this year, the Principal showed us the PSLE results for Kellock and it was above average compared to all other schools in SG.

      This was the stats for 2015 P1 enrollment (Bukit Merah area):

      I recall that 2016 stats for Kellock was similar.

      Hi parents, I'm considering to enrol my girl to CHIJ next year and like to know more about the school hours. Had came across some old threads about long hours on Fridays and wondering if it's still the same. Appreciate some infor sharing. Thanks.

      Long hours on Fridays are not applicable for P1, P2 and possibly P3.

      Those doing enrichment classes (eg. Violin, Gym) involved an additional 1 hr or so after school.

    • RE: Help with model maths for P4 child

      pirate:
      In the end:

      Yellow: UUU
      Green : U

      At the beginning:
      Yellow: UUU+16
      Green: U+16

      Since there were twice as many yellow chairs as green chairs at the beginning:

      UUU+16 = U+16 + U+16
      UU = U+16
      U = 16

      Number of chairs in the end = 4U = 64 chairs
      Thank-you for your solution... you have inspired me to come up with something similar.

      In the End:
      Green : C
      Yellow: 3C

      At the Beginning:
      Green: C+16
      Yellow: 3C+16

      Since there were twice as many yellow chairs as green chairs at the Beginning:
      3C+16 = (C+16) + (C+16)
      3C+16 = 2C+32
      3C-2C = 32-16
      C = 16

      Back to the End where:
      Yellow: 3C
      Green: C

      Total no. of chairs at the End is therefore 3C+C = 3*16 + 16 = 64

      IVP has no text books or syllabus. Its all abt creativity/innovation that works.

      Thanks for the info.

      Wonder what resources do the IvP teachers use?

    • RE: GEP Assessment Books

      Anyone familiar with the 'Distinction Series' books from JustEducation, esp. whether it is as per claimed by the author, ie. \"Unique to this series is the Million Dollar Question segment. Students who are able to complete these kinds of questions with ease will have no problems scoring well. This is because the Million Dollar Questions are the types of examination questions that are typically designed to challenge even the best students. These are intended to test the vocabulary as well as stretch the analytical, inferential and expressive abilities of students.\"
