Anyone with kids who hv had success for acad domain without much to show on non academic credentials & CCA achievements? Will good school grades n Math olympiad cert suffice?

My friend's son has no achievement in Math Olympiad. His school result is around 80+ to 90 for Math. He is just a member in his CCA. However, he is a gepper. He still gets in to RI'S Interview stage. Maybe he did well for the RI's papers (stage 1).

If RI thinks that geppers' curriculum is beyond their MS peers' curriculum, then getting 80s or 90 in school result is already an achievement.

IMO, It all depend on other applicants.

With limited no. of CO, they will choose the best.

If they can find applicants who are all rounder eg. GEP+ MO cert+ Prefect councilor + swimmer/athlete in one person. That's the kid will be offered.

I think in general most kids interview skills are not that far off ..so all back to whatever you have in the bank.

But you and your dc has done all your best..so don't worry too much.

At the interview stage, I believe very likely they all have pretty much more or less the same strength on paper. So the only differentiating factor will be how they carry themselves during the interview.
