How is ESIS awarded every year? Does the 2.4K comes in a cheque form at the end of the year, same as Edusave awards?

Also if a child qualifies for ESIS, but chooses not to go to an independent school, will she still get this award?

      TIA for answering my questions.

ESIS is off-set against school fees automatically so it is not presented in the form of a cheque at the end of the year. You will not be able to enjoy ESIS if your child chooses not to attend an Independent School.

ESIS is awarded to \"top one-third students admitted to Independent Schools based on their PSLE score excluding bonus points\".

Those in Independent Schools not eligible for ESIS based on their PSLE score can apply for it at the end of sec 2.

      :thankyou:

HOW DO I MAKE MY S1 POSTING EXERCISE CHOICES.

A lot of parents may be wondering how to choose the schools, can they choose a school that has a higher COP than their kids score. If yes, how higher can I go.

Here is a sound strategy that you can consider.

Choice 1: XXXXX. Choose a school that historically had a COP of 1 to 5 points MORE than your kid's current Tscore

Choice 2: XXXXX. Choose a school that historically had a COP of 1 to 5 points MORE than your kid's current Tscore

Choice 3: Choose a school that historically had a COP of 0 to 3 points less than your kid's current Tscore

Choice 4: Choose a school that historically had a COP of 0 to 3 points less than your kid's current Tscore

Choice 5: PLAY SAFE (Choose a school nearby home that historically has COP at least 5 to 7 points less than your kids current tscore)

Choice 6: PLAY SAFE (choose a school nearby home that historically has COP at least 5 to 7 points less than your kids current tscore)

Rule: The more safer your 5th and 6th choices, the more higher COP school you can try in choices 1,2,3.
      :thankyou:
For mosquito qn, at first DS put “ layer of oil prevent oxygen/air from reaching the breathing tube hence cannot survive”. Then he cancelled it and put layer of oil prevent mosquito from settling on the surface and laying eggs on it. He thought trick qn cannot have simple answer. Sigh. Do u think both are acceptable ?

His first answer is correct and he shouldn't have changed it. The layer of oil acts as a barrier between the water surface and atmospheric air which the larva needed to survive. That is why it is easier to get rid of them when they are young instead of when they become adults as they would be more mobile, making it more difficult to control their population. This would be the answer for another question in this context.

Thanks. I think he read somewhere that to control malaria they can add a layer of oil on the water surface. So he thought it's better not to have eggs then to breed and kill the larvae. Think too much
Does anyone know how many marks allocated for this question?

Does this mean that those kids who are usually in the 240s, 250s and 260s will probably all find themselves in the 250s range?
I heard someone mention that the t score formula is not as accurate for the bottom and top scores which r dependent on the cohort?

More likely no 280s, fewer 270s and 260s, more at 240-250s, and even more at 200-230s... There is no accurate or inaccurate t score formula, since it is just... a formula? Maybe they are referring to the estimation of t score using prelims grades?

Thanks for explaining. Yes, I was referring to prelims grades. That the middle range say from 200-250 are closer to their prelims estimates than those outside of it.

actually for the one who wrote the cl paper one and thought that it was 离题,i do not think that it is totally off the topic. It may be 偏题,a lighter version as in the compo , it was mentioned that you only thought for yourself and did not bother abt the elder sister having her exams. So it was selfish of you, being the person who like, bothered the sister, which includes some of the title selfishness.for 偏题,a pass should be ok. Or you can even get a 26 to 28.
I thought so too. The examiners are there to try to give you the marks rather than to fail you. You have also kept to the topic. It will probably look more like a careless mistake than not understanding the question properly.
