Looks like overblown accounts of experiences.


My child has finished paper 1 in 35 minutes and paper 2 in 60 minutes. From the discussion and other questions she shared with me the paper is not really tough not even of the same standard as that of 2020 paper. So far I could only spot a single mistake in more than 16 problems she shared with me. Onto AL1 hopefully.

On the concerns of algebra - my child uses more algebra than models and we have never been penalized and we were never warned of her usage either. I also had talked with the teachers who marked PSLE papers and none of them expressed any concern. The only thing they look for is whether the answer is derived in a FLUKE. Otherwise children do get rewarded for the steps- algebra or other method.

Besides AL1-2 in science/mathematics throughout
1. an online certificate course at http://www.aisingapore.org
2. participated in a science exhibition and clinched top prize
3. all those olympiads (participation-> no medals to the credit)
4. young scientist https://youngscientist.sscglobal.com.sg
5. a lot of coding (no certificate though) either at http://www.khanacademy.org or arduino kits ($20-$30 no more than that)

Pretty much all of them are done at zero/minimal costs and no tuition for any subject so far.

Hello all parents. Would like to know if SST sends out emails only for those who got CO and WL or are they still sending out emails currently? Thanks!

No, they sent out all, including for unsuccessful DSA, but in batches across yesterday. Not sure when they completed all emails. Suggest to check your junk/spam, just in case if still have not received.

Hello all parents. My DD didn't receive any email from SST yet. She went for both Phase 1 and Phase 2. According to SST's website, all applicants will receive application out come today. Is it because my daughter got a rejection that she did not get any email yet? Would appreciate some help.

Check your spam mail, in case accidentally get routed into there. If spam mail don't have, give SST a call tomorrow Tue morning

My DD’s school, both CO and Rejection have received email from SST today around 1pm. Maybe you can call SST tomorrow.

Any CO received from SST?

As said on SST's website, ( https://www.sst.edu.sg/admission/secondary-1-admission/ ) all applicants will receive the outcome of their applications by 13 September. I think that SST has not released anyone's results yet. Based on SST's discussion thread ( https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2500 ) and what I have heard, SST releases results on the release date stated in their website. Please correct me if I'm wrong. All the best to your DC!
