RE: Opinions of the Primary School Registration System
tankee:
If it is just 1, it may be different story. But 9, I seriously doubt so. This would open a flood gate for a lot of different appeals and complaints of unfairness
The problem is not just TNS... if TNS start doing this, then other parents at other schools will start to ask too. If TNS willing to take in the 9, then NAPS might as well take in the 2 oversubscribed applicants... though they maybe 1-2km away but just only 2 more... u know..the argument never ends...

Mr XtaZZ:
TNS is giving top academic results year in year out n outrank nearby school cos why? Becos of their GEP students.... if u take away their GEP students, will the ranking still be the same? It's like comparing an apple and orange. It's not like the nearby schools are that bad too. There are students from nearby schools who qualify for GEP stream but chose to stay in the same school and they shine in that school.
Cant agree with you more. Anyway, not a secret that TNS produces such good results year in year out and outrank (in pure academic sense) all other nearby schools hence will be the main draw for most within 1KM. Ppl just checking on their backup plans for Ph 2C sup in case of unsuccessful balloting at TNS.oreomama:
Hi,
Can some of you stop \"promoting\" for NAP just because you want to have higher chance for your school of choice? Please be more considerate to parents who might be balloted out because of this.
Everyone had weighed the risk and had made our choices, so stay hopeful to it. Stop making use of media to influence others decisions. Please have more ethics.
Thanks. -

I would think it will be easier to transfer from tao nan to ngee ann (if child really couldn't cope) but certainly much harder the other way round. No offence :siam:
Y go thru all the stress of balloting n agony n then realise the child can't cope? Whom by then may already killed some of his passion in learning? If the kid is gifted, still can go in tao nan without any ballot n no need like now, stress free cos tns is a GEP sch. A young kid is still very tender, so fast push him or her, may get negative effect. Of course being a GEP sch is highly doing better in academic areas.

RE: [Marine Parade] Primary Schools
MOE just released the stats online. For ngee ann n tkps, all got in. No balloting required. So watever leftover vacancies in 2B for the sch will spill over to 2C. So for example ngee ann will have 89 vacancies for applications in 2C.

RE: 2013 P1 Registration Exercise for 2014 In-Take
No, there were no stats displayed at this moment.... but for PVs, they seem to take in quite a few.. I'm one of the PVs btw n I've known 2 other friends who are fellow PVs. Also while doing my work as PV, I know at least there's another 5-6 PVs. This number is only during my that few months of stint so I'm sure other months, there's about 6 at least. BUt I'm sure there are a few of those who do PVs but dun register here... still quite undecided.
To know the actual number of grassroot leaders etc, think need to ask the school itself.
Headache mum - did they say how many PVs they had this year?
And how many were from grassroots, RC etc?
:thankyou:[/quote] -
RE: 2013 P1 Registration Exercise for 2014 In-Take
Hi
I just registered for my kid in phase 2B in NAPS ard 10am today. Iām the 19th applicant and right after me, there was the 20th applicant. Not sure how many are there now but I guess those registering under phase 2B in NAPS should be safe according to the teachers helping out at the counter. Total there are 58 vacancies for this phase. -
