Hmmm. Not really a good comparison here. I regard those that buy TOTO & BIG SWEEP as having lesser Risk appetite even though the chances of striking is low. Those that buy Soccer bets as higher Risk taker even though the chances of winning is high.

RE: [Bukit Merah] Primary Schools
Haha, there is indeed a wide range of human risk appetite here.
On the one hand, we have parents who wd let go a school if the chance at the ballot box is less than 90%. On the other hand, we also have parents who wd remain even if the chance is less than 10%. -
RE: 2015 P1 Registration Exercise for 2016 In-Take
Yes, precisely. By the way, I am not one of the unsuccessful parents but just an objective third party trying to offer an suggestion for improvement to APS.

RE: 2015 P1 Registration Exercise for 2016 In-Take
Who is blaming who ? ? It was just a suggestion for them to make use of communication advances that won’t take much time & could have made a difference Instead of calling every parents not successful after that which takes a lot time and Won’t help to change the end result.

Yes. Looks like ALPS probably think that was not important to them, an as a result, do not mete out proper advice that could have help b4 the ballot close but call personally only after the ballot to APOLOGISE that won’t change the end results.

RE: 2015 P1 Registration Exercise for 2016 In-Take
In an era of great communication technology advances, ALPS could have created an SMS or whatsapp group particularly for parents residing outside 1 km to alert them of within 1 km parents registration numbers & also 1 to 2 km parents registration numbers. It this way, the 1 to 2 km parents can be alerted almost real time.
Calling the unsuccessful parents after the ballot closed to apologize probably indicate that the felt guilty that they could have done better in the 1st instance. -

Interesting situation at APS. By the way, I just wonder should there be 1 extra within 1 km parents, would the balloting be " drawing 151 ping pong balls that are successful applicant " OR " drawing just 1 ping pong ball that is not successful " ?

RE: [Bukit Merah] Primary Schools
Sorry, I wd like to rephrase my earlier post from " It is unimaginable that nearly 50 parents who stands NO CHANCE at all( more than 1km ) to get into ALPS at P2C had registered at ALPS. " to " It is unimaginable that nearly 50 parents who stand NO CHANCE at all to get into ALPS at P2C had failed to deregister from ALPS. "
What happened to these parents ? Ignorant, Boh Chap, high risk takers or … Afterall, it was quite clear by the end of the the 2nd day that Balloting within 1 km for ALPS is very likely required. -
RE: [Bukit Merah] Primary Schools
From my analysis, most likely 6 parents from RVPS, 5 parents from ZDPS and 3 parents from RMPS had withdrwan from earlier phases ( all 14 of them are SC within 1 km of ALPS ) and registered at ALPS under P2C ( most likely at the last minute ).
It is unimaginable that nearly 50 parents who stands NO CHANCE at all( more than 1km ) to get into ALPS at P2C had registered at ALPS.
