    • RE: Let's Talk about National Service

My son graduated from poly last April and has yet to receive enlistment notice. I called and they inform me likely to be in September. My concerns is that it will affect his enrolment to the university after NS. Anything he can do to allow him to enter university on time? Also will this affects the scholarship offered? Thanks in advance

    • RE: Which school to choose?

It just came to my mind if i put the schools with a minimum cut off points that are so much higher than my kid, will i be risking his chances for montford or serangoon secondary?

Also i went to the open house for both montford and serangoon secondary but can’t seem to decide which is a better fit for my kid
      Any idea how to select?

Also i can’t seem to find reviews on serangoon secondary, serangoon garden etc.

In fact, it seems these schools are not easily accessible from Punggol except for serangoon secondary.

    • RE: Which school to choose?

      Hi

My child scored 164 and allowed selection for NA. However there are not many to select and in fact, we have none near our place to choose from (Punggol) . Based on the secondary school selection, we only have these choices:-
      1) Montford (last year cut off - 164 thus might not be able to get in)
      2) Serangoon Secondary School
      3) Yuying Secondary School
      4) Pei Cai
      5) ?
      6) ?

Appreciate if you can give some guidance on which to choose and if you’ve kids in the school to give some opinions to make our selection easier. Can we also place secondary school in Punggol as one of the choice although didn’t fit the minimum point? Having not much options in terms of school … Stress

    • RE: 2017 Secondary School Selection for 2018

      Hi

Would like to seek some advise in terms of school at NE area for ds. He scores 216 and these are the list of schools after our discussion:-
      1) Greendale Secondary (walking distance)
      2) Compassvale Secondary - bus/mrt
      3) Punggol Secondary (walking distance)
      4) Northvista Secondary - bus/mrt
      5) Sengkang Secondary - bus/mrt
      6) Serangoon Secondary - bus/mrt

Any views on this? Also ds wanted to try Edgefield (which COP is too high, I felt) as well as Pei Hwa - missed by 1 point. What do you think?

      Hi Jennifer

Thanks for the tips but my kid is not for allergy. It's rather difficult to explain.

      Thanks, Jennifer for your feedback.

I’ve sent him for the "Comprehensive Check" - cost me $300. I don’t think will pursue this option but will try to refrain or lessen the intake of certain items.
