      lovelychild:
How do i know if my child qualifies for HMT in Sec 1? And how do I know this year's CoP of the sec schs ie. Will it be published by MOE or do I have to call the school after 20/12?

It will be written in ur child S1 posting slip if he/she qualify for HMT.
You can know the COP for 2013 (last year posting) by the gray color book by MOE (Choosing your secondary school for admission to secondary one 2014)

Choosing of schools ends on 28 Nov 2013 3pm. Results will be known on 20 Dec 2013. Kids have to report to their secondary school on 23 Dec 2013.

Just heard from my son, his friend’s (Gepper) principal told all of them to stretch their scores by 10. I’m shocked and surprise abt this. Any Gepper parents here, did u hear anything like this from ur principals?

my son's score is 244 plus 1. facing a dilemma now... deciding between putting SJI as first choice , followed by Chung Cheng Main or drop SJI totally and putting Chung Cheng Main as the only choice. distance is not an issue as both are easily accessible from our place.

I am keen on Chung Cheng Main because of its affiliation to Nanyang JC. however, i am not sure if my son will lose out in other aspects ie overall, is SJI a better school in developing him to be a more confident and outgoing (he is a little shy by nature) and also in preparing him academically for the \"O\" levels...

i asked him last night, and he is more keen on SJI because SJI has the IB track which he can switch to if he performs well in sec 2.

Why can't u put both choices? :? :scratchhead:

SJI is having open house this afternoon.
any advice will be greatly appreciated. time is running out for us as we r flying off tomorrow morning so would like to submit at least the first cut by today. thks

      Iv)

      Some parents undecided -
Whether to put child into \"ip\" or \"o level\" track ?

P said as a parent, we need to understand our child's learning style.
      Example
If our child get 26x +, must analyse -
How did she get this 26x ?

How is your child's learning style like ?
Is it the parent must must always sit down beside her all the time, handholding her all the time, keep chasing her, ask her \"have you done this ? Or Have you done that ? \" and keep drilling her, give her one assessment book after Another, to practise ? Or send her for many tuition, just to score this 26x + ?

      Or
Is your child that type who can study independently ?
That means she can set her own target / goals & objectives to achieve, be independent to follow her own timetable daily routine, be self disciplined, be self motivated enough to read up independently, Do some research on her own independently, to find out the answers, for herself ?
If yes, p said then \"ip\" curriculum is suitable for this child, because she is a self learner type.

Because there are kids in other ip secondary schools, who scored 26x +.
Because she score 26x+, so parents think \"academically, she had done well. She Should be able to handle integrated programme curriculum, since she score 26x. Let's enrol her into ip\".

But later after admission, find that she can't cope with \"ip\" curriculum.
So, if your child is the type that need a very systematic, step by step very structured curriculum, then even if score 26x+, perhaps \"o level\" is better, for this child.

But if child is used to self independent learning, can adapt to an unstructured curriculum, perhaps \"ip\" curriculum is more suitable, for this type of child.
Parents to quietly analyze, how did your child obtain 26x+, in the first case?\"[/quote]

      Very well said! :goodpost: :rahrah:

Any info on chongfu psle result in term of how many 250 n above? Based on the psle t score thread, it seem that those related to Hokkein Huey primary school have at least 25% with 250 n above.

Chongfu did not put how many scored 250 and above this year. Only put

      3A* - 18
      4A* 6
      Mean T-Score (all pupils) - 220.8
