oops... and being in FMSS probably helps as its affiliated to acjc, means in 'O's, the child will be able to get bonus 2 points off...? 🙂

skyed, yes! definitely! 🙂 but if an able student is placed in a 'lousier' environment, he/she won't be able to excel and if get into undesirable companies especially in teeange formative years, all efforts will go down the drain! alas! 🙂

      cheers! merry xmas. 🙂

dreamgear, commonwealth secondary school… is it css or cwss (clementi woods?) hahahaha…

spicyblackpepper, exactly! but average student there is lower than 238 … in terms of academic learning… hmmm… might not be as challenging as css? though FMSS it’s name is ‘louder’ …

    • RE: Appeal Secondary One Posting

      mumwith1boy1gir, same problem!

Dilemma AGAIN… I am beginning to dislike Dec 2013!

      Background:

COP of FMSS is 241 for non affiliated and 200 for affiliated; FMSS is affiliated to ACJC.
COP of CSS is 238, no affiliation to any pri schools nor JC.

Child was posted to CSS and am appealing to FMSS.

But am in a dilemma because

      - FMSS wins because it has got an established reputation and it has got affiliated JC. However, the affiliated pri students will PULL DOWN the school ‘standard’ of 241; probably evens it out to be a 220-230 grade? Dear child will be average student amongst the cohort.

      - CSS has got no name (I think so; however I do get a ‘woah’ when I speak to West side people or educators among friends) and no affiliation to any JCs BUT minimums standard of students is a clear cut at min. 238. Dear child will be the ‘smallest fish’ amongst the cohort.

IF appeal is successful at FMSS, would you still move? Why…?

      Thanks!

besides choice 1 and 2 which commands a 45mins travelling time; the rest are about an hour odd. 😞

so my choice are pretty limited as the score is 'not high yet not that low' kind. 😞

Swiss Cottage i did look at it but to get to the school, child would have to transfer from one mode of transportatino to another, i think. Even more troublesome than direct 'sit till destination' kind of transport. 🙂

      Hi!

With 238, I need some 3rd party POV for the following list. Is it ‘wise’ or ‘safe’ … totally dead beat… can’t see or think clearly already… hahahahah…

      1. Nan Hua
      2. Fairfield
      3. Commonwealth
      4. Maris Stella
      5. Chung Cheng Main
      6. St. Andrews’

      TIA.
