We managed to secure a place in qifa for 2022 intake. Just wonder what are the after schoolcare choices we have and is studentcare in qifa school good?

Is there any WhatsApp group for such discussion?
You can check out Rising Achievers. They will come and pick up your kids at the school compound. 95% of their kids are from Qi Fa as it’s about 10+ minutes walk from the school to the center ( walk with the Rising Achiever teacher ) .

      Wow! Good job 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻

I just browsed through your site. It seems like u have pretty much home schooled your child way ahead of what the school covers. How do u find time to do that!?
I only use Intensive Maths Drill books, basically just 2 pages each day . Less than 30 minutes, trust me, they spend more time at playing fortnite, Roblox, Minecraft , watching video clip like SSundee, Prestonplaz…. Gosh , they really spent too much time on screen !

      Hi,

      Thanks for sharing.

Any recommendations for Olympiad training centres?
He attended the Olympiad class organised by the school.
They engaged the 3rd party to teach too. It’s called Maths Hub , http://www.mathshub.com.sg.
2 hours per class, total 15x lessons, only S$100 . I think the school got a very good rate.

It’s good to sign up for Olympiad Maths class if the school provides such curriculum . It’s a very good training . I created a blog to document my P3 boy learning journey , especially in Maths . It’s called “Conquering Singapore Education System”. I shared some good tips and hope you benefit from it too .

Ah boy said the toughest paper actually is English.

      Then Mathematics .

General Ability I & II actually quite easy .

Can’t wait for the results to be announced too ! : )

Below notes from my boy .

GEP Selection Excercise Day 1 :
      (1) English Language ( 80 minutes )
      Paper 1 : 50 questions (20 are MCQ questions)
      Paper 2 : 30 questions (15 are MCQ questions)
He finished all the questions just on time, about 7x questions unsure.

      (2) General Ability I ( 80 minutes)
      Paper 1: 40 MCQ questions
      Paper 2: 17 MCQ questions ( why so weird ? )
He finished all the question on time too , about 10x questions unsure.

GEP Selection Excercise Day 2 :
      (1) General Ability II ( 55 minutes )
      Paper 1 : 24 MCQ questions
      Paper 2 : 13 MCQ questions
He finished all the questions on time, about 3x questions unsure. He said the test paper is easy but yesterday General Ability I test was extremely easy.

      (2) Mathematics ( 110 minutes)
      Paper 1: 40 questions (20 are MCQ)
      Paper 2: 8 questions
He finished all the question on time too , about 4x questions unsure but questions were easier than Olympiad Mathematics .

    • RE: Club 2012 : Our Lil Bunnies & Dragons Club

      Hello year 2012 dragon club,

My son was born in September, 2012 too.
The enrichment classes he goes : art, swimming, taekwondo and keyboard.

I don't intend to send him to academic tuition class as I want to teach myself to save money, ha ha ...
I learnt a lot about Singapore education system by teaching him and I decided to pen down my teaching experience with him to all of you. I designed a webpage called, conquering Singapore education system ... https://conqueringsingaporeeducationsystem.blogspot.com/

I will teach him all the way to O level, then he shall settle A level himself and let me retire peacefully, ha ha.
Enjoy learning together with your kid. It is not that difficult after you go through those materials with him diligently.
      Good luck folks !

Not bad, just to benchmark, Qi Fa Primary School (West Coast) has 32 students scoring above 250.

Another tip for parents, you can wear PM shirt most of the days (Mon to Thurs) and AM shirt only on Friday.

Hence, you can always buy 3 or 4 PM shirts and 1AM shirt. PM shirt is much more comfortable. Students prefer to wear PM shirt to school. Take note !
