    • RE: O-Level Additional Math

      Thanks for the help jieheng!

If you could help me with another question, I would appreciate it.

There is a hemisphere with a radius of 4cm. Some liquid is poured into the hemisphere to a depth of x cm. Show that the volume of the liquid is more than ( x cubed / 64) of the volume of the hemisphere.

      Thanks in advance!

I tried solving these questions to no avail, could you please help me?

PQRS is a trapezium where PQ is parallel to SR. Given that the angle PQR = SPR = 90 degrees, PQ = 8.5 and PR = 12.3 calculate

      A) PS

      B) The area of the trapezium PQRS

      And the second question-

ABCD is a trapezium, the angle ABC = the angle BCD = 90 degrees. Given that AB = 8 and, CD = 15, AD = 27 and BD = (3x - 4), calculate the value of X, giving your answer correct to two decimal places.

      Thanks in advance!

    • RE: O-Level Additional Math

Hello again, I have one more question with which I would appreciate some assistance.

Find the values of x and y-

      ((2/7)x) + ((3/4)y) - 4 = ((3/5)x) - ((2/7)y) - 44 = ((7/15)x) + y - (3 + (1/3))

I would greatly appreciate a step-by-step answer as before.

      Thanks in advance.

      Hello,

I would appreciate help with the following question:

Find the values of x and y-

      ((2/3)x) - ((3/5)y) - 4 = ((1/20)x) - y + (17/30) = 2x - y - (18 + (14/15))

      I would greatly appreciate a step-by-step answer.

      Thanks in advance.

      Hello,

I would appreciate assistance with the following question:

      3 divided by (x-3) + (1 divided by (x+1)) divided by (2x divided by (x-3))

      Is the answer:

      (7(x squared) +9)/((2x)(x+1)(x-3))

      or

      2x/(x+1) ?

      Thanks in advance.

      Hello,

Can you please help me with the following question?

Make "t" the subject of the formula:

      T= 2(pi) * (the square root of(( (t^2) + (k^2)) / 2gt))

I have checked the answer which is:
      t = (+ or -) (1/ (2pi)) (The square root of((2gt(T2)) - ((4(pi squared))(k squared))

I do not understand how they have used the lower case "t" in the formula.

      Is it correct?

      Thanks in advance.

I checked the question, it still is: 9(x to the power of ab) - ((xy) to the power of ab) - 9(y to the power of ab) - 81

I would appreciate more help if you do not mind.

      Which is the simplest form?:

      (4X- 8Y) or 4(X-2Y)

      And why?

      Thanks in advance.

If question is .... \"+\" ((xy) to the power of ab).... instead of \"-\", then solution is (x^ab -9) (y^ab +9)..

      I suspect printing error in the question. If it's ....+81, then answer should be (x^ab +9) (9 - y^ab)

For question like this...Which is the simplest form?:
      (4X- 8Y) or 4(X-2Y) .
If the question is asking you to FACTORISE, then correct ans is 4(x-2y).[/quote]If I am asked to simplify is the correct answer also 4(X-2y)?

      Hello,

I would appreciate input on the following question-

Make b the subject of the formula

      ((a squared) / (x squared)) + ((b squared) / (y squared)) = 1

      My answer is ( b= square root of (y squared( x squared - a squared)) / (x squared)

      Is this correct?

      Thanks in advance.
