      Hi,

For table tennis CCA (non-school players), anyone know how many days of practice in a week?

      How about badminton?

      Thanks.

Enjoy yr child first day at school. Don't worry abt uniform. U will hv lots of notices to read up. But typically u wear uniform on days where u do not hv PE. First day is mostly familiarisation. I feel u can just bring water bottle, pencil case, lunch box or allowance for recess and an exercise book to copy things down.

Form teachers will hand yr kids lots of notices and time table.

      Enjoy it. 🙂

When you drop off your kids in the morning, you can only enter via the main gate.

Cars turning left to the school will keep to the left lane and follow the flow of the wardens and cones. U will circle around and drop yr kids at near the basketball court OR u can drive ahead and drop them at foyer infront of general office and exit via the gate nearest to general office.
If u turning right into the school, u keep right and the wardens will guide u to the foyer infront of GO to alight yr kids. U then leave the school via the gate nearest to the GO.

If yr kid is entering primary one, you can consider parking at the HDB lots opposite NHPS and cross the main road. DO NOT PARK ALONG Jln Lempeng as it will inconvenience road users driving their child to school. I saw parking wardens issued tickets to a lot of vehicles parked along Jln Lempeng last year when my kid started primary one. Good luck

Hope that helps and good luck.

      Serendipity:
Can anyone kindly advise the traffic flow in n out of school in the mornings? I can't quite remember what the Principal advised at Orientation.

If I'm turning in from Commonwealth Ave West to Jln Lempeng, do I just turn left directly into the school?

After I go thru the gates, do I turn left to the basketball court area? Do I leave from a different gate?

How many gates for vehicles are there?

      Thanks much!!

I was asking my wife the same question too. Lol

I think I will pack the main text book without the activity books, 4 exercise books. That’s all. Leaving all other files etc out.

Yes. There is a no-going development beside the school. God knows why government allow the land to be sold where it could have been allocated for school expansion or new schools.

In any case, at this juncture, there isn’t much noise pollution as yet since the development isn’t at full gear yet.

Furthermore, te school installed air condition at the highest level and are working to do so for the entire school so as the noise pollution.
One major concern to me is also the air pollution to the students as a result of te development, especially during their recess, CCA, PE sessions but there is nothing we can do about it.

My son is in Pri 1. Homework still not at a level of concern. Maybe 1 subject per 3-4x a week max but as the parent abv mentioned. It’s the strict Chinese discipline that is a concern(not a bad thing) They hv a good mix of fun n learning journey (our time it was known as excursion). Principal is still pale in comparison IMO with mrs Lee who was the former principal. I served as a PV during her time and can see how much she engages with parents n students. Mrs Neo IMO is more cold and less engaging. It’s the teachers that I feel makes a maj diff in how the students excel along with parents. Now a days u can’t expect to have yr child in a school that takes all the initiative to steer the children. We as parents have a part to play.

Another point I’ve noticed is that the school drills and reinforce moral and civic values to student which I think is lacking in most children from 7-18. I think Nan Hua’s culture of its motto is strongly enforced and emphasise which makes me feel that its a good school of choice for my boy imho.
