Hi Mamiz,
My boy is in G2 (which is N(A)). As St Pat’s is full subject-based banding, his classmates are from all the streams (G1-G3). G3 is express, and most classmates are from G3. As there are fewer students doing subjects at G2 level, for academic subjects, they will combine 2-3 classes together. So far, he has not felt discrimminated or bullied in school and made friends with boys who are taking subjects at both G2 and G3 levels. N(A) class is certainly not what I had imagined it to be - I was biased. They might not be good academically but they can be still be well behaved.

Yes, MSP students do conversational malay too. I think MSP is formal Malay. So far, no mention of travelling elsewhere for MSP so presumably all 4 yrs in school.
Do the MSP students still participate in Conversational Malay? Or do they use the time to do other MSP work?
Any idea of the rough percentage of kids that made it to Year 3 MSP?
I think Yr 1 had 20 MSP students, this dropped to 12 in Yr 2. No idea how many are continuing in Yr 3. -

Yes, MSP is taught in the school. I thought my son was going to give up but he surprised me by saying that he will continue into Year 3. In Yr 1 & 2, all DHS students also do conversational Malay (non examinable)

RE: St Patrick's School
Like worried_mum, I took a "risk" to enrol my son in St Pat instead of going back to his affiliated secondary school. I warned him about bullies and gangsters, and he must tell us early.
6 months on, we are all very happy with choosing SPS. It is probably the best choice in the east for my son. He is the quiet type, took him a while to break into the St Stephen/ St Joseph boys’ circle but all is well now. Even told me tt my fear of gangsters in school is "fake news". Haha, maybe he is just an innocent boy who likes to see the good in everyone

RE: St Patrick's School
Hihi! Any feedback on St Pat’s N(A) classes? Or any feeback on the school in general? I am hoping that the bad rep on the boys in school have improved. Thanks

RE: Dunman High School (Junior High)
My son is in Sec 1 this yr. So far, it has mainly been a good experience… according to him, teachers are very nice and from what I see, his workload is manageable at least for now. He has always managed to go to bed before 10pm every night.
As for handphone usuage, I think it depends on the child. My personal view is that children can be given the hp if parents feel they are mature enough to be responsible users. -

May I know what is the cut off point to qualify for foreign language this yr? Or is every year the same number?
