Yes. I heard from my dd last time that source based question is a killer. it has a very complicated marking scheme that is often not very logical and direct. always need to read in between the lines! while the main essay is usually quite easy and all they need is to memorize and regurgitate some information.

Yea, I think the Wisemann and GLM series are pretty good. Very organized and concise. Most of my DS and DD’s tutors all use books from these series.

Always take higher Chinese when given the opportunity to! just aim for a pass and you get a free -2 pts from your L1R5. definitely worth it.

When it comes to choosing subjects for sec 1, I highly recommend those who are able to take higher Chinese to take it. Don’t be like me, I made the mistake of allowing my elder dd drop her higher Chinese and in the end at sec 4 O-levels, she doesn’t get to -2 points off her L1R5 for. Apparently, all she needed was to pass higher Chinese which she would have no problem given our Chinese speaking background. The -2 points is a bonus that is added on top of her basic L1R5 score.
