RE: * Nanyang JC (NYJC)
Someone is claiming this JC is top JC and to prove that it is indeed true, it is common-sense that you need to compare and rank based on evidence and not just hearsay only. It is not that we are still stuck with myopic high-school mentality.

You are right. Thanks for correcting the error!
Thanks for compiling! Based on the what is posted on Reddit (and on Dunman High's website), it should be median 84, and not mean 84.

RE: * Nanyang JC (NYJC)
The only info regarding NYJC I can find from Reddit are:
A: "im frm thr and i chatted w the principal, the mean is about 83.75rp and the median is 85-86." (By A)
B: "j3 from nyjc, they always announce the mean but like 1 week later during school hours on the PA system… idk why j3 not even in sch what to hear.
but my class (PCME) got 86 rp as our mean… don’t know the school’s mean but yeah."
Based on the above, it seems like there was no announcement and J3 students were not in school. I didn’t include the above mean/median in my compilation as this is not so credible as it came from one single person and can not be verified by others. -
RE: Networking Group - JCs General
Sorry, error. TJC should be 82/85 (mean/median) instead of 85/82.

This post is merely for information only for results of 2022 GCE A-Level examinations obtained mostly from Reddit and some from this forum. It is likely to be true but not guaranteed to be totally error/mistake free.
The info is grouped into "mean/medium" (- mean not available); others.

RE: * Nanyang JC (NYJC)
3rd best JC, not very convincing to me! Well, it depends on what you define as "best". Obviously, one of the must have criteria is best result. There is no clear and conclusive evidence so far. "A" level result is going to be released soon. Let’s see if NYJC can produce clear evidence to be No. 3 this round.

RE: Networking Group - JCs General
Information is not easy to come by nowadays in regard to performance of school unlike the old days in this forum which I find really helpful. Thanks a lot to Joashhyy and eaglewing95 for sharing the info here.
I think most schools release information for a purpose like boosting the morale of their own students, parents and may be public image in general. So, likely it will shows something good than bad. If information released isn’t enough to enable comparison on equal basis, it is then open to different interpretations.
The three closest in result are Ny, VJC and EJC.
…Median…90…>87.5…>85
Ny…86…NA…NA…NA
VJC…85…15%…40%…NA
EJC…85…13%…NA…50%
1) Decimal is important here for clearer margin of difference.
2) Ny performance is outstanding considered the fact that they are non-IP, entirely JAE students. They are comparable and even better than some IP/JAE JC.
3) The argument that Ny is better than VJC and EJC could be a flaw without more info (90, 87.5 & 85 RP) from Ny. I am more inclined to think it is likely not:- (i) School tend to release info that is good to them (but not info that show they are not actually that good); (ii) IP cohort has a bigger poll of brighter students (based on psle score) and there will be likely more students scoring at the higher range in the "above median" distribution than Ny which is likely more on the lower range. This may be wrong unless Ny is willing to release the information to prove otherwise.
