    • RE: St Margaret's Primary

Hi all 2013 Primary 1 parents. (Welcome to have parents of other level joining in as well.) My name is Joseph and my DD is going into primary 1 next year. So far, we have 2 outing and am glad that the kids are comfortable with one another. For the next 8 weeks, we have come out with weekly outing schedule that we hope it will be fun and interactive for the kids. I hope that you are able to join us. The first one would be this Sat (23/Sep 4.30pm) where we will do a Photography-Treasure-hunt at the botanical garden. Parents must accompany your kids as this program is not run by commercial entity. For good fun, we will sponsor small prizes. Please RSVP @ 97405553 with your contact and I will give you more information as to where to meet.

Objective: Have FUN & get to know friends.
Learning point: Being Meticulous and Observant.
      Fact Learning: Nature & Science
Please bring a camera for your child and be prepared not to yell at her if your child dropped it.

      Have a good week ahead.

      Cheers
      Joseph

Is it true, I should be already looking for P1 school for her by this time?
if you are looking at PV, then yes. the closing of the registration for pv is usually 2 yrs before the enrolment.

    • RE: Parents, let's solve this problem for our kids

My 2 cents worth of opinion. We need to be more aligned and work more together to leverage for help and support. From simple things like banding together and order milk powder directly from the source can save us 20% to 30% bulk purchase. On a larger scale, we can leverage to cut the cost that is being paid to intermedaries who are paying expensive rental to the already rich property folks. Our mindset has to change and we can strengthen our bargaining power. Just as an illustration of the power of leveraging to bring across my point.

This happen within a family, a friend of mine (let’s call her Sandy) and 2 other sbilings have completely paid up their housing loan (4 room flat) when they are in their late 30s. They now co-own another property fetching rental. They are not high salaried but their mother (widowed at young age)instill unity in their family. When her eldest sis married and have her flat, they were chipping in to help pay off the loan as fast as possible (save interest), i know that they pay cash. Then her turn comes and next her younger brother. As what i know, the mother even draw out a financial plan to show them the prudency of working together (mother not even O level).

We can definitely save lot, if we all work together. (of coz if you are ready to slam me with all the conflict of views etc. i ack that it is not simple) Then start with likeminded people lor. I am hope to start the trend in my daughter sch… let’s pray for a lower cost of living and swing the bargaining power from the provider to us the consumer.

Then, maybe we can all have more kids with more managable cost and more quality delivery and perhaps also more quality time together.

Enough with the darn ping pong balls already. I'm getting DD to stomp on one tomorrow. :stompfeet:

I get my dd to join in the fun. Darn.. My wife already starting tearing at the 5th draw. Policy is adding a lot of stress rather than remember as a milestone experience for my kids. Perhaps may laugh at it yrs later. But definitely not funny going thru it.
