    • RE: Blacklist Irresponsible Maids

Just to share - my Myanmar helper Zar Chi Aung. Been with me for 3 years. Took her as my previous helper had to go back when mum passed away. Aung used to work for my friend whose MIL disliked her - though she basically disliked all her helpers. Benefit of the doubt, took her as she can speak Mandarin and English, having worked previously in Singapore too. Even agent likes her and says she is very hardworking, will go back to agent office on her off days and help clean the place!

Started to slack after a while. Told her no handphone during the day and dont ever bring it to my dad’s place where there is another helper. Caught a few times flouting this. Never mind, just told her off. I am a very easy employer. Even with a full time helper, my house is dirty and messy! To make life easy for everyone, husband always tell me to just tahan and let her finish her contract.

Fast forward to CNY this year. She was caught taking angbao from my brother’s room drawer! Totally no reason to go into the room! CCTV caught her. Confronted her and sent her home.

Just want to warn the folks here. She is a very good candidate, speaks both Mandarin and English, always looks very enthu. Appearance wise, she is skinny, tall and tomboy. Sports a tattoo (!!) on one of her forearms, not sure if it is for religious reasons. Yes, my bad, I have been too easy and lenient.

Luckily I can be rid of maids as my boys are also quite grown up, youngest turning 12. I have put myself for reference calls in case anyone decides to hire her.

    • RE: 2018 PSLE Discussions & Strategies (Born in 2006)

      TWU:
      Namie:

Husband is very unhappy with child’s results. She is already feeling very upset and he scolded her twice, saying her grades are her own fault. Then blame me for not coaching her well enough even though I took two months’ leave to coach her daily. Now both child and I have no lunch. 😞

      Hi Namie,

Think positively, do handle the situation with care. Otherwise, may affect self-confidence level of your child or she will have little sense of her own self-worth. Such may affect your child during secondary education (as the posted school may not be the preferred choice, both parents and child have no sense of belonging to the posted school since day one, all tend to view all aspects of school negatively - such will affect her performance during secondary education).

May consider to guide her to do self-reflection, how to build resilience and surmount adversity.

No one will mention or bother about t-score at secondary school after 1st week of January. Everyone will start from same starting point regardless of PSLE results.

I have seen students who score poorly but do extremely well during secondary education even though they are at non IP schools/neighbourhood schools, some score extremely well for PSLE but are doing poorly during secondary education.

gosh... i feel so bad for you and your daughter... and i really see this kind of men no up!
