RE: CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' Secondary
Hi all
My girl has been offered DSA IP to SNGS although we applied for O level. May I find out:
1. How much more time commitment is needed for IP vs O level track?
2. Do the IP students need to stay back after sch often?
3. Is the HCL lesson additional class or part of the normal class schedule?
4. Is it possible to switch to O level track later? How does the sch view such switchers?
5. What is the sch hours?
TIA -
RE: Looking for transfer maid
I have an Indo maid available for immediate transfer. She was taking care of my dad for almost 4 years until he passed on recently.
She stayed alone with my dad, handled general house work, go grocery shopping and prepare meals. She took good care of him from when he was ambulatory, to when he needs to sit in a wheelchair, and finally when he was bedridden.
She is a reliable help, able to bring him to his medical appointment. Able to change diaper, sponge him, give medicine promptly and is trained by a care nurse to give injection.
She can communicate fairly well in English and is trustworthy. I am releasing her for transfer as I do not need her assistance anymore. Her preference is to look after elderly as she has the experience in this area.
Update: she has found an employer
Thank you -

Hi
Are there weekday classes for P3? And how about the oral class, has it been firm up yet? What’s the schedule? Can you also share the fee for both classes?
Thank you -

RE: About Chinese words
You got them correct
That's the general rule of thumb.
You have found a scenario I have not thought of. Thanks.
In the sentence, 云白得像天鹅, the later part 像天鹅 describes the extent of the whiteness of the cloud in front - as white as a swan. When we want to elaborate on the extent/ intensity (程度) of something in front, 得 is used, though 白 is not a verb. Like 那位歌星最近红得发紫.
得 is read as 'dei' when it means \"must/ need to\". Like 我得把功课做完 or 我得花两个小时才能做完. -
RE: About Chinese words
Hi allseasons,
The 2 sentences should have used 像. There was a period when 象 was treated as the simplied version of 像. Some books may have continued to use this rule. This rule is not valid now.
Btw, it should be 云白得像天鹅,not 的 -
RE: About Chinese words
Hi allseasons,
I'll try my best to answer your question.
像 is \"look like\" or \"as though\", eg: 天上的白云像一朵朵的棉花
象 is \"elephant\" but it can also use to mean the look of something, an impression, eg. 商场中人来人往,一幅繁荣的景象; 雷电是一种自然现象; 他的演说让我留下了深刻的印象; 电影公司为他塑造了一个清纯的形象 (they are all nouns).
Hope this helps. -
