anyone sending their kids to the 3 brand new schools next yr? Wat eviews/ research have u heard/done?

I think coz previously mee to n edge field were the top schools n were extremely popular n hus resulted in heavy balloting. but since more schools started like horizon n green dale etc parents had more options n spots. then came another phase of starting punggol view n the one near interchange (can’t remember the name ) even more options for nearer schools. n afterschool care in several of them thus the convenience for working parents is tremendous. the brand new schools don have afterschool care n no infor making them less popular I guess.

was there a large turn out at the roadshow for oasis and water way? there are so many via-ing for the even slightly established schools like punggol view and not to mention edge view and horizon etc take it seems I will have better luck at striking toto than balloting a spot in one of hear schools. I think we need to look at the brand new schools if proximity is of importance…

no of coz not. i appreciate posts keeping close to topic too. can i check then, what are good counsel’s and nativity’s strengths? anyone knows of cecilia tan is still teaching there?

u have under estimated my stubborn streak hahaha. even before we got married, i have told him clearly that i want my children in missionary schools. and i would rather send them to other neighbourhood schools than meetoh (a buddhist-ish). period. it took me almost 7mths to convince him that our girl is not thriving in pcf before he finally admitted and agree to send her to a pte (and catholic, tadah!) nursery. that involved alot of tears by myself and arguments with him. but we r very happy now, for now, until the p1 registration issue pops out its ugly head again.

i dont drive, so even if we take public transport, it will probably be 1.5hr twice daily. and i will not be able to send 2 kids to 2 different schools in the morning thus school bus is my only option. which leads to DH’s big no no for schools further away. he is already harping bout the fact that dragon babies will face competition in enrolling into schools even when i reminded him that moe will open up more classes in all schools to meet this cyclical demand.


so basically, he prefers co-ed schools nearer our place so. meetoh is so hot that even <1km need to ballot from my neighbour’s caution, as with edgefield. that is the root of our conflict, coz i cannot fathom tikum-ing a school that we have above average chance no been able to get in, when my ala mater is already a not bad school. just that his ala mater is all the wat in katong, so not in our consideration. this is the ONLY thing we have agreed on until now. btw, he seems keen on roysth, as my mum stays next to the school, but even harder to get in from what i have heard. and moving is not an option for us.

I am like u! if i have can my way, my girl will go to good counsel, straight entry as i am non paid alumni member. my boy will ideally go to st gabriel’s or maris stella, though only as catholics. all these schools, including hips, are definately >2km. hips being the closer school to me in distance.


i am totally clueless right now, i can’t decipher the statistics re % balloting, % chances getting into schools etc. quite overwhelming and i am still slowly trying to digest the infor. i only managed to grasp being Catholic, and the alumni, and distance bit for now. embarrassing. coz i was taken up emotionally with transferring my girl out of her pre nursery the entire of this yr.

i can do pv as i am not working. or even grass roots.

i am really keen to get my girl (2009) into my ala mater (good counsel) but my husband is not happy as the school bus trip will be long, since we are staying in punggol. plus my boy is a dragon baby so not having a sibling and the birth spike will likely be a big problem come his time. i would like to send my children to missionary schools if i can help it, even if my husband is keen to send my girl to a co-ed school. holy innocent fits his criteria, co-ed, near, good school and for me, missionary but it is so hard to get in… any thoughts, anyone? need fresh minds and train of thots to provide new perspectives.
