A school with more stringent COP doesn’t necessarily mean a better school, and certainly doesn’t mean a school which better fit a child’s development. This is coming from a person who has been to a top school. Yes the experience was great for me but I have also seen others who couldn’t keep up with the demands or environment. It’s all about the best fit for a child. And yes, distance is an important consideration for us and our kids too.
Totally agreed. Behind the scenes are some struggling to keep up to stay afloat with tough competition. Quite a number are also visiting private psychologist to manage stress / depression.

      Hi,

Can someone please share if the situation in XM has improved, with the new principal?

Cause my child is thinking of putting XM as his first choice.
The new Principal will only officially start in 2023.

I have asked my child to reach out to her seniors who are currently there and their feedback is that they enjoyed the school and the school activities. That to me I feel is important.

I guess to each its own. Our children are not there to look for a job.

If the school management does indeed is toxic with people leaving cos of their resistance to change or whatsover. Then i would see it positively that the turnover is a good thing. Hopefully everything will be better when the new P starts next term. I also had my worries at first but felt so much better when I raise this concern to the new P at the open house. He also welcome parents to engage with him.

I would welcome feedback from parents whose children are currently studying there to give feedback on the ground on student experience. Please list actual examples of how it impacted your child.

I actually agree with @Courtly above.

Indeed, such toxic behaviour of the management (and even hods) needs to be eradicated. It is totally disgusting to be double standard and multiple-faced.

I certainly hope that more competent and compassionate individuals can improve on the situation.
      Hi Allen,
Is your child still studying at XM?

Went to the open house last week, spoke with the new principal and I did raise concerns about the high turnover of teachers that I read. He did acknowledged and of course mentioned that other schools also have turnover but perhaps XM is higher than usual. What’s past has passed so he can’t speak much of it but will work towards with students/teachers/parents to have a good learning experience in school.

I guess there’s nothing much he can say but glad to have an opportunity to raise this to him so hope for the best

I regret not applying CCHY, don’t know where I heard it’s not as good as it seems.

I just received CO to Xinmin and I read bad reviews at the other thread. Anyone can share insights about how this school is doing now?

      Hi,
Confirmed school has lost many teachers over the past 3 years.
What I know is school finding at least 19 posts just this year - this will be considered a red flag if it happens in private companies and heads will roll.
So maybe really have 17 teachers resigned in 2021, and some more add to this year.
Wow, nowwadays sch like pte companies can recruit teachers already, always thought must hire by MOE only.
Got a friend who is a teacher to do some checking and confirm - she said she saw it in some MOE website.
Even the children are all hearing from their teachers they suspect Principal will not stay in this sch for very long - quitting is it?
Or maybe MOE found out and put another one to take over before sch also close or merge.
Last year heard tuckshop got complains, and office people have to psot out. A few post out already. Maybe guess they resign
This year tuckshop still big mess - half of the shops not open.
Everything in sch always something not enough
      Sad

I guess it’s about time the Principal leaves for the next post so I assumed it shouldn’t be any worse in the coming years?

Any parents whose children are currently in Xinmin to share their experience esp the lower secondary ones?
