The picture actually showed the boy holding the exact same wallet the girl had lost. And when the girl dropped the wallet, the boy was just right behind.

That is why I wonder if his is considered out of point. I do not have a clue how far off is considered out of point.

My son also made the same mistake. 😢
He also think that the boy with a wallet in his hand is queuing to buy food only.
He didn't think that the boy is holding the girl's wallet. 😢
      😓 😓 😓
They probably may not be the only 2 kids who thought so because according to him, there was no 'bubble' (that indicate the boy's thoughts about the wallet in the pics) nor any expressions or gestures that indicate that he was about to ask her something about the wallet. But I told him, the characters are there not for no reasons. I think he thought he was writing English composition which allow much more freedom in expression and creativity. Well, we will never know, perhaps they can recover from their grammer and structure like what @chenlaoshi and a few other parents have shared. As long as not out of point, 还有得救, 应该不会太惨吧! :)。

      @chenlaoshi
Do you mind sharing with us the rubies for 表达too? Do you mean the marks for 表达will not be affected by the story content at all?

      Hi Sctc,

As the original document is actually classified as 'Restricted' (which is why I cropped out part of it 😓 ), I have translated the points (apologies for the English standard). The many criteria taken into consideration are still quite visible though. 🙂

The marks for 表达 is not completely independent/irregardless of the story content but the focus is on the structure of story & paragraphing (i.e. won't be penalized again for plot/storyline)

Thanks you so much for sharing! :thankyou:
Thank you for taking the trouble to translate and share with us @chenlaoshi. 🙂
Hi parents

For chinese picture composition, how so will it be considered out of point? My son told me about today's topic and instead of writing about how the wallet was returned to the girl who lost it, he wrote that while she was searching for her wallet frantically while queuing for food, her friends came over and asked her what happened. When she told them she could not find her wallet, they all went back to the basketball court to look for it but to no avail. In the end, her friends bought her dinner instead and she regretted for being so careless and reminded herself to be more cautious in future. Will his story be considered out of point totally? He said no where in the picture showed that someone had intention of returning the wallet to her though the boy queuing behind her with the father was holding a wallet but there was no gesture from the boy indicating that he was trying help or return anything to her. He assumed the boy was queuing to buy food as well with his own wallet. But he told me most wrote the wallet was returned to her. ;(

Have to see the picture then can judge. As long as the content looks like the picture it's fine. At most 降一级minus 4 points won't be out of point.

Hmm the last picture is a question mark so I presumed most will thought of 拾金不昧 and ended the story by saying the boy came along to return the wallet to the girl.

Anyway don’t think it’s out of point for your boy’s compo. It’s just another ending which differs from the rest.

He asked his cl2 teacher and she did tell him it should be ok and should not worry about it. But because most of his friends exclaimed \"its out of point\" when he told them his ending, he has doubts. Hope you and his teacher are right :). Thank!! Anyway, its science tomorrow and we are all done! All the best to all the kids tomorrow and pray for less carelessness.

      Hi Kyee,

Yup, agree with I wanna know there.

We have a rubrics in marking to refer and adhere to. Depending on how close your DS's story is for the rest of the story (i.e. in relevance to the pictures), he'll probably be in 等级3 - and that's for the grading of 内容 component alone. So don't worry too much. If his expression and structure is done well, there's every chance of 'turning the tables' with his 表达&结构 grades. 😄
Thank you @chenlaoshi for sharing with us the rubrics of marking. I will let him know so he can be more assured. Thank you too to all parents for your inputs and consolation. He will need to be more cautious in future.

Your Dd got the topic right, BUT the story wd have been better, of course if there had been a 圆满ending. 😂
sure, the 6th pic was a question mark, which meant that you can find your own suitable ending. Your Dd's answer tt they treated her to a dinner is not exactly unacceptable, BUt
using the visual clues of ic 5, of the boy and a father (是爸爸吗?)? And incorporated them in, that would have been better...

If you are using guided pics, always be observant.

But it is over, don grill him oveer it.
      move on to science. :imcool:

That's a consolation. At least he won't be too worried. Yah not grilling him of course. Must focus on Science tomorrow. Thank you!

My girl said the 5th picture showed a boy holding on to the wallet with the apparent intention of returning the wallet to its owner (the girl).

My girl once misinterpreted one picture before and marks were deducted for 内容. And to me, the marks deducted were quite “substantial” but she didn’t fail.

At least \"didn't fail\" is a consolation. Out of point is a lot of wasted marks for nothing especially when its picture composition. *sigh*

Yah..I know *sigh*. My boy is fond of doing such things. during his prelims, everyone wrote that the picture was a teenager who also was carelesss ...forgot to turn of the stove while playing with phone game and cooking noodles. He had to say its a Mother in the picture not a teenager cause he said the character in the picture can pass off as a lady as well and so had a different story line. But luckily teachers discussed and did not fault him. This round, one more time! *sigh*
