Why would a school want to do that? Schools are not lacking talented applicants. I haven’t heard about a student who has been offered two WL/CO offers from the same school.

Kid was at the NSG these few days and she said that NJC gave out DSA offers via letters to some students? That's fast? I thought applications start next week.
Likely invitation to apply letter. My son received similar letter from RI 2 years ago. However, invitation to apply does not grant you a guaranteed CO. A few of his schoolmates received the invitation too.

In an earlier post . someone also said her friend's son sort of got a verbal confirmation for music for RI- just wondering how is it possible when the interviews are conducted 1 -1. If they have yet to interview the rest , how can an offer be given verbally or rather sort of ?
The verbal might came thru phone call from the respective domain. My DS received the CO last year (Not music domain) via call before the official email from RI sent out to all domain, which I remember is rather late. I kept the verbal CO a secret to let DS focus on studying during the Sept school holiday.

Hi, may I know if there is a site where I can check the annual intake size of the various school? Heard some (not-purely DSA) schools are taking in 10%-20% of intake via the DSA route. Just to have a rough gauge on the chances for my DS. Thanks 😊
IP schools around 30%-35% each year depending on the quality of the candidates they may get.
Attended one of the IP school orientation week parent briefings, the figures are aligned with this number.

But I don’t think it is RI in the question.

Anyway, for sports DSA, I heard RI will still push them for academics. End up the kid couldn’t pursue the sports at high level either cos RI asked him to buck up his study first.
Honestly, the school already filtered and ensured that the kids were not too far away from the cut-off point. According to my son, so far, all the schoolmates he knows who entered via the Sports DSA are still within AL10. In fact, most are within the AL6 cut-off point. My son entered RI via Sports DSA from the previous year too.

My girl would like to apply under 2 domains for same school. I understand only 1 CO will be offered if successful. However, would she be given the chance to go for trial selection/ written tests for both domains ( if shortlisted) ? Thank u!!
My DS did it last year, went for the trials for both domain. However, it was 1 academy and 1 sports domain.

I always hold the view that DSA can be a dangerous thing. If a student DSA into a school base on CCA alone, there is a pretty high chance that he/she will spend alot of time on the CCA, and neglect their studies. I have seen too many such cases already. The school brings the child in to win awards of the school. But at the end of the day, the student does not do well for their national exams, and wasted many years of their life.
There isn't much of a difference in the commitment levels between a student who enters the school through DSA and one who does not, even if they are in the same CCA. Once a student is enrolled in the school, the only difference between the two is that DSA students start their CCA sessions from week 2 or week 3 onwards while others go through CCA orientation and auditions.

Within the CCA, people do not typically care about how a student entered the school, as the selection process for representing the school is based solely on merit. Therefore, regardless of how a student enters the school, they will be expected to commit equally to their CCA.

      Hi All,

May I check for DSA Sports, there are 10 supporting documents to submit? In report book already stated participation and medal, leadership role eg vice captain, monitor.

Can the below be submitted as all this not stated in the report book:

      1) Certs given by the school eg. good character/leadership/star student
      2) Participation certs for maths/science olympiad
      3) GEP qualified to go for 2nd round (Passed 1st round) - No cert only notification letter
      4) MOE awards certs
Honestly, depending on what you have on hand, just fill in as many as you can? If you have more than 10, then prioritize and rank them. If you have limited achievements, then just fill in everything that may help. There isn't right or wrong in this case. E.g. for my ds, as he was applying Sports DSA, we included his distance swim certs and the swim saver gold achievements as one entry, altho he was not applying swimming domain. Just to show case he is strong in stamina and love sports etc.

Hi, I 've been following this DSA 2023 from pg 1 til now, and not much parents share about their kids DSA application.

Kindly allow me to ask your opinions & thoughts, which IP schools shd my DS aims for his DSA Leadership ? RI, HCI, CHS, DHS or RVHS ? And what are the chances to get CO from these schools ?
Not sure if these schools also looking for others such as character, behavior, academics or sports as overall in term of selection?
No easy or hard. just try with his target school (school that you really want him to enter if by PSLE result, usually should be the schools around the cut off score that is slightly better than his current AL score).
AL8 is a good score to be considered by any of the schools you listed above. Do consider the location as i noticed you are listing the top IP schools. The sec school time ends quite late and spending time to travel is very tiring.

The interview is the last stage, depending how many spots the schools are looking to fill up and how many students they shortlist to interview.

Sports domain is very straightforward - the ranking in NSG/key events is most important.

      Good luck!
