    • RE: National Junior College (Junior High)

Hi, I read several negative posts on NJC and will like to seek feedback. My child has DSA CO.

      1. Someone mentioned the secondary (junior high) teachers being good while the A Level teachers not being so. Any feedback on the teachers?

      2. Is it true that the A Levels results are slipping in recent years?

      3. We read about compulsory boarding school, which we are not keen. How does this work? Eg. Does it start in sec 1? Is it 1 term for each year?

      4. There was a particular post on how bad the project work (PW) department was. We read, MOE will change it from graded to non-graded. So, getting a pass will be sufficient to be considered for local universities. Will this be accurate?

      Thanks a lot.

      Double E:
Alexandra took the heat from many schools in Bukit Merah! All SC within 1km all in for Zhangde! Remaining seats will be balloted by 1-2km. The admin said they hv additional 5 seats cos some withdrawal. I know of 2 parents who withdraw fr Zhangde phase 2b to join Alexandra at the last minute.

Thanks Double E for your previous reply.

Do you know why the Zhangde parents withdraw? Seems like there are some not so positive feedback towards the school..?

      Double E:
      Hi Raysan

My child will be in phase 2c and I am within 1km to ALPS, Zhangde and GES. Initially, I thot I will go for ALPS, but after visiting both schools, I am now torn between GES and ALPS. Frankly, if not that ALPS has a P and a VP from branded schools, I may just go to GES because of it's more established programmes. GES's new principal is also from a branded school.
Hi Double E, any idea where GES principal was from?

Anyone has more feedback on Zhangde, in terms of school culture? Are the teachers strict in discipline?

    • RE: [Bukit Merah] Primary Schools

We are considering New Town Pri, Queenstown Pri and Gan Eng Seng as our backup schools. Could anyone please share your feedback about these schools especially if you have a child studying there now?

I registered my child under Phase 2C in GES. I like what I saw, especially its student care which is run by YMCA and it has good reviews from other parents whose kids are in the student care. GES has a new indoor stadium which is going to be ready in 2015. Going single session in 2015 as well.

Thanks BaconEgg for sharing about GES.
