I'm an RGS-girl-to-be, and if all goes smoothly will start my time at RGS next year. I was just wondering if any of you know where to get the school uniform (whether it is available at Bibi & Baba's or we have to wait for the vendor), what is a required purchase (tie, name badge, etc.), and when to get the school uniform.

The full uniform list and address of the vendor, as well as information on the different parts of the uniform, are greatly appreciated.

hi dear,
first of all, welcome to RGS! i cant believe its been almost a year since i've felt the way you do right now i hope you're getting really excited about starting this new chapter of your life it will be VERY fulfilling, trust me hehe.
secondly, the uniform is available at bibi&baba's, but you can purchase it on the day you get your school books and socks and all that good stuff. i think getting it on that day would be better, so you can just get all you need for the school year in one trip
name tags will be distributed in 2014, and yup you will know what you need to buy when you get your books and uniform, though i cant remember what that day is called oops.
info on uniform:
1) culottes: we wear them on Wednesdays usually, with our PE shirts. we also wear them with school-approved shirts sometimes on casual occasions ie. if you're going back for CCA (or at least for mine) or to pop in school for a short while to get something on a non-school day. THE SIDE OF THE CULOTTES WITH THE ZIP SHOULD BE WORN BEHIND
2) pinafore: we pin our school badges/name tags on them
3) ties: we wear them on Thursdays for morning assembly
4) blouse: DO NOT BUTTON THE TOP BUTTON OF YOUR BLOUSE and fold the sleeves
5) PE shirt: DO NOT BUTTON THE TOP BUTTON OF YOUR SHIRT and dont fold the sleeves
haha thats all i can think of at the moment

have a great holiday and get really excited about school!!!!!!!!!! you'll love it. (; and for the rest of the P6s, put your calculators down and stop calculating your potential PSLE score (omg i was doing this 24/7 around this time last year), have fun, and treasure you're primary school friends right now. all the best (though its a bit late) and be happy with your results im sure you will do ABSOLUTELY WELL hope you get into the school of your choice! you guys will be in my prayers

Does getting an offer means 100% can get into that CCA?
How abt if the student is on Rank at CCA waitlist as no. 1 but we put it as 1st choice? Can still get into this CCA?

Got 3 offers and 1 wait list (rank 2).

Offer = guarantee in? If lets say dd decides to put the cca on waitlist as first choice and the confirmed offers as second choice onwards, are the COs still valid in the event get rejected by the first choice cca (on waitlist)? (aiyo, suddenly reminded me of dsa)

I think it depends on the how popular that CCA is. I think if you get offered, that means they have reserved a place for you , which means you will almost definitely get in. However I think if you are on waiting list rank two for that CCA, your chances are quite high. But still depends on the popularity of the CCA. Hope this helps.

Personally I think that everyone has nearly equal chances to get into the CCA, but I've checked with my classmate who is in Girl Guides.
She's never been in any UG, never gotten any awards and stuff but she got into Guides anyways, but I think it helps a that you've been serving the community and stuff. They will put you through an interview but they don't really ask about any CIP or service awards you have.
So if you don't have any awards doesn't mean you have no chance too haha. I wish you luck! All the best I'm sure you can make it.

For hair accessories, you're only allowed to use black hair accessories (but I used to use dark green but no one booked me, but yes please use black).
For jackets, any normal jacket is fine
