thinking mum:
If accept the offer for 3rd language, can it be dropped later? Any schools conduct 3rd language onsite or it is only at the specific language centre?

You can do it only at the specific MOE language centers. So need some traveling time unless the school is near the language centers. Yes, you can drop the subject later but do bear in mind that the books cost quite a fair bit, so if you are unsure, perhaps you can see if there is anyone with old textbooks to pass down.

Hi, are there any Taekwando CCA in HCI?

I think they have TKD only in College. In High School, they have Judo.

Hi

P6 will be given past year PSLE exam papers to do? not the top schools exam papers right? just want to be sure before i proceed to order the 2012 school papers....hope not too late :xedfingers:
It all depends on the school. Some schools do exchange papers with other schools and the school may get the P6 pupils to practise on other schools' papers.
Past year PSLE questions come in booklet form, by topic. So not really doing as a \"paper\", rather questions from past PSLE.

Hi! DesRay,

Thanks for prompt reply. My DD was from another school in P1/P2. We shifted so apply for transfer .Just got the offer today. So a bit lost. Still do not know which class she will be in. They are in the midst of processing.

From the list, how to tell which one is optional items? It is not stated there. For PE shirt, do they change In school or wear it to school?

The school hours is it 7.10 am to 1pm? How about recess hour? I cannot find from the website.

Thanks !
If there are no changes, recess is staggered for P3 - P6. For P3 should be 10 - 1030. The staggered recess hours start from 0900 - 1030. Hope this helps.

My son will be taking PSLE in 2013. How many past year papers from top schools do you think is necessary to be completed on weekly basis in term 1 and term 2 to prepare him for PSLE? I think the school will give him lots to practice on term 3 so i will leave term 3 to him FT.

Thank you.
For term 1, I think your son may still not be able to complete the maths and science papers yet. School normally tries to cover syllabus by end of term 2.The June hols is a good time to start working on more past year papers. Before SA1, of course, you can try the SA1 past year papers.
Hi, can any sec3/4 parents (2013) enlighten me what's 3S1 - 3S4 classes specialize in? Maths & triple sciences? :scratchhead: Thanks alot! šŸ˜„

These are the classes for students in the Science and Maths Talent Programme. So they have enriched Science and Maths curriculum.

Hi lizawa, :thankyou: very much for yr reply :please: so this 4 S classes are taking triple sciences? Do u know the so called structured IP classes are classified under which classes? Thanks alot! šŸ˜‚
My son is JC1 this year. During his time, there are students in SMTP who didn't take Bio. Bio is optional. The difference is at the end of the year, they have to sit for higher science (eg. higher physics, higher chem, higher bio) and higher maths papers besides the sciences and maths paper. I am not sure if there are any changes, during his time, structure IP classes are the \"Q\" class.

Hi,

I've a few questions, not sure if it's appropriate to post it here:

1) with the same T-score, will my 1st choice will be of higher priority than your 2nd choice?

2) Is everyone offered Malay/Arabic for 3rd language?

3) My child is eligible for SAP school. But he didn't meet the MOE's requirement of MT = A* or HMT <= MERIT. Does it mean if he goes to SAP, he will do Normal MT? I also heard that some SAP schools offer only HMT. Thus, does it mean then the MOE's requirement will be overriden?

TIA!
1. Posting is based on merit, not on your choice vs my choice. So, when it comes to your child's turn, the system will look at his choices accordingly and post to whichever that still has vacancies. If all his 6 choices are full, then, he will be post to the nearest sec school from his home address which still has vacancy.

2. No, not everyone is offered 3rd language. Top 10% offered all the 3rd Lang, including french, German and jap. Then the next x% will be offered only Malay, Arabic, etc.

3. Not too sure. Maybe should call the school to ask. I thought the requirements are not that stringent.

Hi, I would like to know if there is any difference in the PE Attire that the College Students wear and the High School Students wear?

Same PE attire for high school and college.

jarenchuatw:
Thanks BB, but could u explain how did u derive the below equation

SR:SC
9:12

How did u derive this equation?

Common distance question. Use ratio of speed and time to solve
TR : TC
12 : 9
SR : SC
9 : 12

3u -> 15
1u -> 5
speed of Rani -> 5 * 9 = 45 km/h
Distance = 45 * 12 = 540 km

Speed of chua -> 12 * 5 = 60km/h
Time is inversely proportional to speed, given that distance is common. So if ratio of speed is 12:9 then ratio of time will be 9:12
